Xavier has expelled Dez Wells

Featured Replies

Today's article in the Enquirer:

Deters: No charges against former Xavier player Dez Wells | Cincinnati.com | cincinnati.com

Deters is really going after XU on this. Either he feels the charges were totally bogus or he feels XU's process is very flawed, or both.

One comment Deters has made that stood out to me:

The university’s process is set up to protect students, Deters said. “But Dez Wells is a student too,” he said.

Question to consider:

Should Dez Wells put this woman's name out on twitter and in the media like the young lady in Louisville did to the boys who assaulted her? It appears the charges are totally false and it has made a major impact on Wells' life. Do we have a right to know who the young woman is or is that an infringement on her rights?

I would say it's a bad idea putting the name of the female out there. Nothing to gain by it.

Rumor is she is 5'1" 195, what kind of slump was Dez in?

Were the charges false or did the grand jury just not have enough evidence?

Dez will visit Memphis, Texas, and UL and make a decision on Monday.

It will be a travesty if he has to sit out a year.

I am a UK fan that cheers for X also. I will no longer do so after this situation.

I would say both based on how Deters is reacting to this. It is pretty clear he thinks a serious injustice was done to Wells. That is why I posed the question about whether the woman's name should be released. If this is false, shouldn't she have to face some consequences for her actions?

Technically, there was not any good evidence to take to a grand jury.

My guess is he will have to sit.

Hope X is ready for a civil suit.

A. They are.

B. IMO the NCAA will not care about lack of evidence. X never officially said why he was expelled. So the NCAA can only go by the fact he was expelled.

Correction: Maryland will get a visit instead of Texas.
