Penner was my favorite player, along with Jeff Kent, entering this game & even up until last night. I picked him as my MVP in the Fantasy league. But I hated what he did at the final Tribal. For me, Survivor gets really crappy at the end when the stupid jurors sometimes place their votes out of sheer revenge. Penner's words, IMO, were nothing but sour grapes & he lost a great deal of respect from me. He's too good for that grade school kind of stuff, which is what I believe that was.

:thumb: Spot on, Randy! I was just going to post that same idea, but you did it so well. I'm hoping that Penner has some regrets for saying that about Lisa at Tribal. If not, he is basicly the same person as Abi.

If I were Lisa or Skupin, I would have called out Denise on going to every Tribal Council. She used it to win votes. I would have asked the jury if they really thought someone who lost that many times deserved to win. That was not something to be proud of. I really think that is what won it for her and would have won it for her against Malcolm - surviving every Tribal Council. Yes she may have outlasted. Perhaps you could say outwitted. Outplayed, not even close with all those losses in challenges and going to Tribal, where she is the common thread.

 

I agree that Penner's comments were just bad all the way around. But I don't think his revelation about Lisa cost her votes.

 

Personally, I would have voted for Lisa. I love the way she put it all out there for everyone at Tribals and that she constantly pushed making moves.

You have to remember the mental toll the game takes. Im sure Lisa had practiced her jury speech all day long. How to answer Abi. How to answer Malcolm. Penner drops his bomb and you can just see the smoke coming out of her ears. She didnt know how to react. Much like kelly with Sue Hawk in the famous rats and snakes speech

 

The last two voted to the jury are always bitter. Never fails. I was surprised Penner was bitter for that long, knowing his head was on the chopping block if he didnt have an idol.

 

All in all a solid season. Much more solid after the merge. Some very forgettable people early on. Again, simple is sometimes best and all of the twists such as redemption island dont always make for a better show.

 

I would love to hear from the show's producers on the evolution of fewer water challenges and much more food rewards than years' past.

I don't think Penner's revelation affected the votes either. It did nothing but make him look juvenile. Plus he had to check it off his "to do" list, because you know he had been dying to share that information ever since he found out.

Her secret isn't a secret. Only young people don't know who she is. Her and Penner have/had the same profession and she was better at it than he was so he blows up her spot. That's weak.

I haven't seen the reunion show yet. Jeff Kent's secret was way bigger than Lisa's and how they didn't know who he was is nuts. How was their reactions when it was revealed that he was a game 7 World Series loser? I'd have been asking him for Barry Bonds stories the whole season. :lol:

I still don't see what outing Lisa had to do with the game other then spite, bitterness and immaturity on Penner's part. In an earlier post I did say that I hope he did it just for entertainment value but when it happened I just thought it made Penner look very small. I am now putting Penner in the same category as Russel Hantz when it comes to bitterness and bad behavior when the game didn't go his way. I find it somewhat funny that in years when the nasty players lost out to floaters because of jury bitterness there have been people on here who have said they should get over it and reward good game play. If Lisa was able to keep that secret for the entire game then by that same logic shouldn't Penner have just gotten over it and let it go since it didn't come out in the game?

There's a difference between constantly making moves, and trying to make moves. She had a few blow up in her face. I give her credit for trying to play the game and I did like her, but she was 3rd place for me in the Tribal.

Does anyone have a link to the Reunion show? CBS.com doesn't have it posted, only random clips from it and that's annoying.

Then what is the point of mentioning it? It's like if you and I were on Survivor at the same time and we both run and participate in Triathathons and you're awesome and I suck and then you make a move that excludes me and ultimately costs me a chance to survive for one more day and then 2 weeks later in jury tribal I say "but former won the Ky Triathalon. Don't vote for him. He's had a chance at success." Makes me look petty and like a pretty weak individual in my eyes.
