Favorite Places to Play

I like the environment and the field of Somerset personally. The best place though is probably Corbin. The field was in great condition. Also the environment was unbelivable.

I also must add a new place to this list: Troy, OH. My fiance is from Troy and we got to see a game this year and their stadium was awesome. This is a great place to see a game.

I have seen and played games in that stadium. It is a beautiful place.

Of the ones I've played or coached at I like:

Ashland's Putnam Stadium

Scott Co's Rawlings Stadium

Highlands is neat because of the tradition and it's tough because the fans are right on your back when you are on that visitors side!

It's been awhile but it seems like Mongomery Co and or Lincoln Co had nice places.

Flemming Co used to really have a nice place when I played too.

I'd like to play at Danville and Hoptwon's stadiums sometime.

I always enjouyed Putnam Stadium in Ashland, as well as Middlesboro's Lee Major's Field!

I would have to agree with my friend on both of those selections. I would also like to add Lawrence county's field as well. I did not have a good experience at Putnam but had plenty at The Bionic Man's football field. I only played once at Lawrence county's field but it produced my greatest football memory that i was ever envolved in. :ylsuper:

Papa John's in December is always nice. :thumb: From the cushioned seats up high on home side.

Manual Stadium, sidelines, you can get up high and see the whole field

Old Cardinal Stadium from the end zone.

Clark County...I like to battle the home team for seats.

Paul Dunbar, very nice from both sides.

Cardinal Stadium, or now, Papa John's Stadium.... ;)

For obvious reasons.

John Hardin has a very nice facility.

Yes, John Hardin is a fine place to play. I also thought Male was a great place to play. The best "football" home field advantage I have ever seen was down at Corbin, when Bardstown played them a couple of years back in the playoffs. Another worth mentioning is Glasgow, with the most outstanding band (bagpipers) I have ever heard in high school. I don't like Danville, mostly because we've lost every time we've been there. I also don't like War Memorial in Mayfield. Its old "charm" is substantially outweighed by the problems the facility has.

The best grilled food is at Marion County. They don't win many games, but the local pork and beef producers there are top notch. They also have the best press booth, which is double-wide, soundproof, air conditioned, heated, and catered.

Some of the places the I have liked watching games from woul have to be Sheldon Clark (they call is "The Rock" but Rockcastle County showed them twice who the real Rock was), Whitley County, Bell County, Danville's Admiral Stadium, Ashlan's Putnam Stadium, Covington Catholic (BUT only when it was a grass field...the new turf doesn't do it for me), Somerset's "Briar Patch", Southwestern's "Reservation", and most importantly...RockBoss totally has it right...THE ROCK on Friday nights behing Rockcastle County Middle School is by far the best place to watch a game from. I don't mean to sound biased but it definitely is.

I only played there as a young lad, and people probly won't mention this, but I always liked Dayton just cause you felt like you were in an arena (sorta)

I have to disagree with you on that. I have played on that field alot and I think it might be one of the worse fields. in one corner of the endzone you have a metal fence that is in play still. And in the other corner you have a cement wall that is like only a yard away from the field, that is not safe at all. Also I have now watched a few games now at that stadium and the stands is terrible, the stands go like straight up in the air its hard to get up and down the stairs without falling.

My favorite field to play on and watch a game from the stands besides my home field as Ludlow is the Holmes Bulldogs field. I know no one has mentioned it but I just like how the field and stands is laid out. When your on the field it kind of seems like your at a big stadium. I really like how they have the scoreboard on the school on top of the hill. I also believe the field is always kept in good shape. The only part I dont like about it is when your the visiting team you have to go up the huge hill to get to your locker room.

Newport Stadium.

I would have to agree Newport, after it has been raining and there is no grass on the field. While it might sound sarcastic, it was fun to play on. Though I always loved to play on my home field at Ludlow. IMO, the talent may not always be top notch, but 1A football between the river cities is some of the most exciting football a person can see. Great atmosphere, and an all out war on the field.
