Ugly Campaign Cycle Getting Uglier

Oh.

That makes is worse than I had originally thought.

Yes. I originally thought it was to a much more 'mixed' crowd.

I wonder how 'y'all' comes across on the teleprompter. "Y'all", "yawl", "yall"? I do not think the good man from Pennsylvania and Delaware used this southern slang growing up.

Campaign ads from both sides seem to be targeted towards morons who don't know anything. You have to look long and hard (which I don't) to find positive, truthful ones.

No doubt about it.

For the life of me I cannot remember a bigger bumbling idiot than Biden. If Obama gets reelected that consolation prize is 4 more years of this ding dong.

Here's local coverage about his stops at GW Danville High School Football Practice and the little hamlet of Stuart VA (30 miles west of Martinsville). He met Glen Wood of the Wood Brothers Racing team in Stuart.

BTW, that's Tom Periello on the right behind Biden. He was our Congressman until the last election.

Though Palin, Gore, and you could also include Dan Quaill, had their moments. They pale in comparison to Biden. Look at it this way, for the better portion of 4 years the current administration had hid Biden, and rightfully so. Yet, at just about every opportunity he says something stupid. Remember dropping the profanity into a live mic?

I think Gore is a whack job but next to Biden he is Doc Brown.

That was a big...deal.

 You remember. If I were Obama I would put Biden back in chain just like he was for the past 3 1/2 years.

On a related note, the first REALLY negative ad that I remember was one run by the McGovern campaign. Best I can remember, President Nixon had just announced the ending of the war in Vietnam. Ad had a mother of a recently slain soldier, saying in effect "the war is not over and the President is lying".

That may not be entirely accurate, as I was 17 years old at the time. Lots of water and other substances under the bridge since then. But that particular ad has always stayed with me.

Romney is getting a bit tougher in his responses to the Obama campaign:

Mitt Romney used a tough new campaign speech to personally blast the Obama campaign on Tuesday, saying comments earlier in the day from Vice President Biden are “what an angry and desperate Presidency looks like.”

“Mr. President, take your campaign of division and anger and hate back to Chicago,” Romney said while campaigning in Ohio…

“His campaign and his surrogates have made wild and reckless accusations that disgrace the office of the Presidency. Another outrageous charge came a few hours ago in Virginia. And the White House sinks a little bit lower,” Romney said.

“This is an election in which we should be talking about the path ahead, but you don’t hear any answers coming from President Obama’s re-election campaign. That’s because he’s intellectually exhausted, out of ideas, and out of energy. And so his campaign has resorted to diversions and distractions, to demagoguing and defaming others. This is an old game in politics; what’s different this year is that the president is taking things to a new low.”

Joe Biden is dumb.

What's even worse is I bet there were at least 20 people in that crowd that are currently at work swearing that Mitt Romney is going to bring back slavery so vote for Obama.
