10th Region Predictions

Featured Replies

I like all that Montgomery Co will be returning and think that they are a favorite by a considerable gap. But as the end of January t Mid-Feb rolls around, a lot of different teams could easily be in this mix.

I think we will all be surprised by who is left cutting down the next at the end of the 10th Region Tournament.

I look for one team to distance itself from the pack in the 10th, just like GRC did last year. The 10th Region was supposed to be one of the weakest in the state last year, and while it might have been, it produced another solid contender at Rupp, just like every other year.

Montgomery County, Scott, or Brossart would be the most likely candidates to represent the 10th at Rupp, but Pendleton County, Mason County and Campbell County (Depending on McGovney's health) are viable candidates as well.

I was told GRC got manhandled basically all summer and I know Coach Humphrey don't schedule too many cupcakes, so how many wins they looking at?

Don't put too much stock in summer ball and GRC. Coach tries many combinations and players missing. Some will not even try out/ make team till this fall. ( Example of last year....Taylor Howard)

We start the season out with Covington Catholic no cupcake there. Play Montgomery Co twice and early in the season we will play Madison Central. Dixie Heights on the schedule at the end of Jan. and usually end season with Henry Clay. I see all of these teams being ranked in the state except maybe Cov. Cath. I haven't seen a full schedule yet. When I do I will post it.

Now on how many wins....if coach can get these players to have the heart that last years team had, the Cards could be a dangerous team come tourney time.

I hope everyone knows better than to count out GRC by now. Granted, they've never lost all of their scoring and turned out a whole new lineup from the prior year like they'll have to this year. Wait....:D

Where does every one see Bourbon County ending up this season? They add Lafayette transfer Snoop Johnson as well as the return of Chris Gillispie. Former Colonel star Derek Robinson has also joined Rob Goodman's staff.

The return of Gillispie will really help. What can you tell us about the transfer. What position does he play, height?

He transfered in from Lafayette, Jody Demling has Snoop listed as one of his top kids in his class. Snoop will play PG I'd say he's about 5'10 but may have grown since I've last seen him.

What class is he in?

I am looking forward to seeing what Montgomery County looks like. I know of one transfer, but have heard rumors of at least 2 more. Also looking forward to seeing who the coaching staff is since I heard today that Bart Rison had been offer an assistants position

This summer it looked like they had as many coaches as they did players.

Who does he play summer ball for? His HS stats are not all that great especially coming from a 9-19 team. He better learn to shoot a free throw -50%. Granted, it still impresses me when a frosh starts on a high school team.

This years squad at Deming is in rebuilding mode. There are some talented players, Dawson Cooper struggled last year but has worked during the summer to get his game back. Darrin Edwards now has played the middle and has show in the game against Paris can shoot the 3 ball well. Dalton Schalch has been rumored to just concentrate on golf and may not be back which would be a huge loss of our offense. Tyler Burns would be looked upon to be the point guard.

How many good players will there be in the 10th region. I saw about every team play last season and only can count 3-5 good players that I can think of. Good enough to get college offers.
