What I find amusing by this is how many were killed in all of those countries by knives or any other means. How many murders altogether? Also, how many of these 9484 murders in the US were commited by legal guns?

I used "spoon" rather than "fork" with someone when I was discussing the same topic yesterday. I also said that we might want to ban sex, too, because that leads to abortions.

It's the liberals not waiting, they try to pounce on everything they feel is for them and try to lay blame on everyone but themselves. Maybe if the economy was in good shape and not being ran into crap by the most liberal president of all time this may not have happened, maybe the guy would have had a job and no time to think about that stupid stuff.

The assault weapons ban that expired in 2007 (2004?) banned the AR 15 and multi -clip. He would not have been able to get those legally 10 years ago.

Legally, no. He still could have gotten them. I can name many legal guns that weren't included in that ban that would inflict as much damage. This has been covered on here in the past. Also, let's not forget guns and clips can be altered.

As for the graph, how about this: Switzerland has mandatory military service. The people there are issued their assault weapons after their service. They are considered part of the national militia. In 2006 there were 34 killings or attempted killings using firearms. There were 69 killings or attempted killings using knives.

I'm a second amendment believer as well....however, I can't help but wonder why everyone needs semi-automatic weapons. Do we really need assault rifles legal to everyone? That's an honest question that I ask myself.
