I still don't see his point. If you start a business and you build the business then who helped you? Yes, your employees obviously did a job they were paid to do but in the end it was your business plan and work that started and built the company.

If you listen to the entire statement, what he is saying is that if you have a business you use public roads, bridges and other infrastructure and that you didn't build that. The that refers to the public infrastructure.

Sure. If the thought is that teachers only present information and it is the student's choice to learn, thus the teacher is not really responsible for learning, is it the same way for parents? Parents teach kids lessons. Kids choose whether or not to learn them. So...do parents also not get credit for producing kids with good character and ethics?

No, he was clear and not taken out of context. He was talking about peoples businesses. He let his social-side hang out in an unguarded moment. Or maybe it was a deliberate poke at people he does not share the same values with.

No. I do not believe that hardly anyone in this administration has any understanding - at all - of what it means to start - from nothing - an actual business. The values of being an risk taker and business person are different than those of a 'community organizer' or a political gear for the Harold Washington machine (Valerie Jarrett - top advisor). Values is not reference to moral values but the values of:

 

"I will make this entity, this business work or die or go broke trying even if no one else believes in it."

 

That is the value I do not believe anyone in this administration understands.

I've said it in other threads and will say it here again: who is running Mr Romney's campaign? The cat needs to be replaced.

 

They fire up a response ad to this (IMO) non-issue with a small business owner from NH. The guy used in the ad to complain that he "got there on his own" took almost $1M in govt loans.

 

I have serious doubts about the campaign manager.
