July 15, 201214 yr I understand Bob Noll is stepping down as Principal of Newport Central Catholic and accepting the position of Assistant Principal at Beechwood. I assume this will be a pay increase. Anyone?

July 15, 201214 yr I know nothing about the pay scale for school administrators in Kentucky, but are we sure that taking an assistant principal job at a public school pays more than being a principal at a private school? It would seem counter intuitive and, based on my experiences, not a common occurrence around the country. I am not challenging anyone on the point, I am ignorant to this situation and really want to know for my information.
July 15, 201214 yr NewCath's lose is Beechwood's gain. Sorry to see Bob leave "the hill", they don't come any better then him. The following is the email sent to NewCath parents today. Dear NCC Family, This letter is to inform everyone that I will not be returning as principal at NCC. I have taken a new position outside the Diocese for the 2012-13 school year. I know this may not be the traditional timing for a change in the principal's job, but some opportunities do not always follow our preferred schedule. This is a good opportunity for me and my family and I am excited for our future. I have informed Fr. Stef, the school board, and the staff of my decision and they are already working to see that the educational and faith environments of the students are not affected in any way by this change. The leadership of the NCC community always has and always will take care of the kids and provide a great Catholic Education. We have accomplished much over these 12 years and it has taken the entire community to achieve our goals. This has always been the case and will continue to be the case. This community is about one person and one person only, Jesus Christ, and the rest of us are just fortunate to get to experience his great love through this family. I have enjoyed every minute of working at NCC and will hold my years here as fond memories. This is an exceptional community with great faith filled people focused on the education of their children. This school has a great tradition and bright future and I will follow and support it always. My commitment to NCC has not made this decision easy. I have given myself to this community passionately and completely for 12 years. Some changes are not easily explained especially to a large community. My family and I have decided that after 25 years in the Diocese and the opportunity in front of us, this was the right time to alter our journey. We are honored that our journey has taken us through this community. I will always keep NCC in my thoughts and prayers. Several friends of mine are school teachers in the diocese of Covington and the pay is horrible. Benefits and retirement plans are not the best either. That being said, I also had a buddy who was principal of a Campbell county public school and left there for a close to even trade in pay as a teacher in Ohio. I have heard the Beechwood school district is one of the better paying in the area so I'm thinking it's a pay raise and better retirement. Bob dedicated 25 yers of his life serving the diocese. I'm sure it was not an easy decision for him, but it is one that was best for him and his family. I wish Bob nothing but the best.

July 16, 201214 yr Very sad to see Mr. Noll leave the hill. I wish him nothing but the best at Beechwood. We were lucky to have had him and our loss is definitely Beechwood's gain.
July 16, 201214 yr Sounds like Beechwood is getting a quality individual! Yes...they most definitely are. I had the good fortune to be coached by Bob at Cov Cath, and I don't respect many people more than him. Beechwood will be very happy with him.
July 16, 201214 yr I say Ronny Dawn or Jenny Mertle would be a solid replacement. They would be...but not a chance either of them gets hired. I would expect to see the new principal come from at very least a different school, and more than likely from out of the diocese.
