Just curious as to if anyone has ever hit a hole in one or Eagle?

 

Multiple eagles but never that elusive ace. Don't think it will ever happen either.

 

 

What makes that even more grim and disappointing is there is a guy I work with who just started playing last year and he has already hit a hole in one. The funny thing about that though is he didn't just send one in perfect and land it close enough to the flag to go in, BUT, hits it waaaaaay right of the green, getting a miraculous kick off a hillside with the ball rolling back onto the green and all the way across into the cup. I had always heard that a little lucks better thank skill, guess that holds true here.

Not sure about you guys but I really dot care about the type of golf ball I use. Most of the time I just buy the recycled 50 count for $14.99. What about you guys, u all use a certain kind or does it matter?

 

 

I play Pro V1 for the most part.

 

Normally always go Titleist with the Pro V1 or NXT Tour, although I like playing Bridgestone tours and TaylorMade Burner tours every now and then.

 

 

Another ball I've been messing around with lately is the Titleist Tour Prestige because its got a softer compression. I have slowed my swing speed down a lot in the last couple of years and the lower compression ball seems to help even more. The Pro V1 or NXT Tour usually plays forgiving enough since they are good balls but really liked what I have saw out of the Tour Prestige here so far in this experiment.

Several eagles, once on a par-3 (yes, an ace), a couple times on par-4s and a few times on par-5s. Not as often as I approach my golden years, however.

I've never holed out from further than 25-35 yards, couldn't imagine what it'd feel like to can one from deep. I have put them within a couple inches a few times but never have I really ever holed one out from distance. Maybe one of these days.......

Just bought a RBZ 5 wood and man is it hot. Most juiced club I've ever hit, would hate to see the 3 wood (which I am going to purchase soon). Never hit driver well, never liked to use fairway metals. I always played my rescue 3 for long distance shots and played the rest of my game with irons which is the best part of my game, especially short irons. Bought the RBZ 5 wood Friday and immediately was striking the ball longer than I ever have off the tee. Twice I was laying about 30-40 yards from the green hitting 3 on a couple of par 5's that I would normally have to take a 7-9 iron into. I can tell its going to shave the strokes off my golf game being driving distance off the tee was always my weakness. Was matching some guys I consider pretty long hitters off the tee yard for yard and they were hitting driver, again this was a 5 wood!!!!!

If you think you would use it, can't go wrong with the 5 wood. I cannot believe how much distance I was getting out of it, basically played as a 3 wood. Even the guys I played with were commenting on it, I have only played it one round and it was yesterday in my golf league at work. These guys have played with me quite a bit so they know how long I usually hit, they were like wow. I was hitting it 240-250 off the tee and off the fairway consistent every time I hit it, which was probably like 10 swings total. First couple I hit with it straight out of the plastic were fading quite a bit, but turned my club face in a hair and was ripping them straight and on a perfect plane. Later on I didn't even really need to turn my club face in and was ripping. I even let a couple of the guys I played with hit it and both of them said they were probably going to get the whole set, Driver, 3W, and 5W.

Since I'm stuck inside with the rain I've been flipping between it and the European event on the Golf Channel. Both have been pretty good to watch, went to a playoff in the Euro event.

No joke, and what are the odds of both guys having bad first shots and then following them up with water hazards on their next shot especially after they've both played spectacular all day.

I watch a lot of golf, especially on Sunday's and you don't ever see that in a playoff, ever. A sequence like that is usually the death blow to a player, but to have the other guy choke like that too is amazing.

What a shot out of the bunker by Zach Johnson, that was just absolutely incredible.

Dolamite, remind me to never play golf with you. You'd crush me! I haven't played at Raven Rock in forever, I usually just play at the Mountain Pub Links Course.

 

I do plan on going to Raven Rock tomorrow though and go to the driving range.
