Romney, Obama and Bain

Featured Replies

I just find it ironic that we were all suppose to ignore Obama's past in the 2008 election but Romney's is fair game.

Holy Cow, we talked about everything about his past. Birth Certificate, his preacher, Bill Ayers. They were all explored extensively, the problem is there was nothing to any of them. He is an American Citizen, he sat in a Church where on occasion the preacher spoke out about the ills of America, and Bill Ayers - a free American citizen - had some kind of political acquaintance with the President many years ago.

And all that questioned ANYTHING about Obama were labeled racist, right-wing, disingenuous, hateful, mean-spirited, biased....

Your dreaming. The MSM all but completely ignored it all. Most of his supporters on here didn't want to hear it. RTS pretty much nailed it.

I am not sure who the MSM are, but they would be the only ones that ignored it. Four years later and we are STILL hearing about faked birth certificates and country of birth being Kenya. His supporters on here (which we know which way this board swings) heard it loud and clear. We just didn't think there was any substance to it and we got tired of having the same discussion over and over.

The left knows he attended a church with a racist pastor.. They know he was mentored by a murdering terrorist. They know his hero was Saul Alinsky.. They just flat don't care.. They just see a way to get their hands on other folks money.

I'm not talking about the BC crap. His relationship with people like Ayers and Tony Rezko is what I'm talking about.

I'm talking about that, too.

Maybe Ole Car Salesman Mitt Romney will get some of his offshore accounts to pay off the debt.

The right hates poor people.

See what I did there?

As Mr Will pointed out today this is really nothing for the most part but Mr Romney and his advisors have failed. The other side always gets a kick out of you having to waste a lot of news cycles answering questions that , for the most part, do not impact the campaign. That's what's happening here. They should have addressed this proactively but instead came out with a weird "he retroactively retired" about 4 days into the story.

Secondly, the reason this issue is important to the Romney campaign is that the Governor wants to distance himself from the outsourcing issue. He is essentially saying that he retired in 99 before Bain did a lot of their outsourcing ergo it "wasn't me." Technically true. However, it's a bit disingenuous for him to believe that the company suddenly changed tactics AFTER he left. Bain did what Bain does and should not apologize for it. They made a decision they thought was best for their company. Mr Romney running from this other than explaining what most of us see as logical should frustrate all of his supporters.

This.

Out-sourcing of jobs should not even be an issue for the left. They seem to have no problem with the at least 29 billion in jobs Obama has out-sourced using tax payer monies. Where is the outrage on this issue ?

Parroted Obama?

Proving once again, we all interpret things differently, I didn't see Romney running from the issue of outsourcing at all. President Obama's campaign blatantly is attempting to mislead Americans. The campaign lied. It's that simple. Romney responded to the lie. President Obama's supporters should be infuriated that their candidate is not willing to apologize for the lie of his campaign.

And Clyde, I have seen dramatic changes in company policy accompany management changes. P&G in our backyard is the easiest example of such. You've seen it also.

I'm fairly confident that you won't find me supporting outsourcing anywhere on here.

My friends LN and Hoops seem to be the folks on here supporting outsourcing.

Although I would probably call it "insourcing."

Come on mc, you're better than that. Did I say I supported outsourcing? Nope.

But I live in a community and region that has benefitted greatly from foreign investment creating jobs for Kentuckians. Those are jobs outsourced from other countries. The global economy is here. With it comes jobs being created in the countries where it makes the most sense for them to be located. If you are going to damn outsourced jobs at least be fair and acknowledge that a whole lot of jobs have been created for Americans as a result of them being outsourced from somewhere else into America.
