July 12, 201214 yr We got some local news from Rochester, NY this evening. It was pretty awful and actually made me appreciate the quality of our local news broadcasts. Pretty amazing the difference really; though I admit I don't know how large Rochester is. In Louisville it's our CBS affiliate that was taken off the air. Does Hearst Media own the NBC affiliate that is affected in NKY? Did it make you feel like you was out of town?
July 12, 201214 yr I miss channel 5 news team - The station it was replaced with is a joke. I don't care for WKRC or WCPO news. If it was my call I would take TV cable out and get what I can for free with rabbit ears.

July 12, 201214 yr These type issues are not just with Time Warner. Read earlier where Viacom and Direct TV could not reach a deal. That means no more MTV, BET, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, etc. for Direct TV subscribers.
July 12, 201214 yr Wife and I were talking about this today and she said that my son set the DVR to record Days of Our Lives for her on a daily basis and that it still records the show somehow on NBC. She cant watch it at the time it is on but it shows up on the recorded list. Interesting.

July 20, 201214 yr Time Warner has experienced and subsequently settled several of these just in the last month -- and those are only the ones we know about because the negotiations broke down. Is there anything other than the normal course of contract expiry and renegotiation that's caused all this to happen right now?
