July 10, 201214 yr Insight is bringing in an NBC feed from Terre Haute, Indiana. So, really, the only thing we're missing is the Channel 5 News. If that's the case, it can stay out forever as far as I'm concerned. If other people feel the same way I do about it, this is going to hurt the local stations far more than it will Time Warner/Insight.

It used to be that cable stations were required to carry local stations, not sure when that law went out. But I agree, if you/your company had ad's on Ch5, wouldn't you demand that your bill now be cut almost in half? As you just lost a large chunk of your target audience.

Then we're going to be stuck with the Fox Sports Ohio/Cleveland edition. I can't wait to only be stuck watching the INDIANS play instead of the Reds...even though I live all of like 15 miles from GABP.

July 11, 201214 yr I have Insight providing my cable and internet at my house. ...so I just took advantage of a golden opportunity to call and argue my monthly rate down by THIRTY DOLLARS A MONTH!!! I'd strongly suggest that anyone who has Time Warner/Insight do the same before they get things renegotiated with WLWT/NBC. Great call!
July 11, 201214 yr Correction, if I have ads on Ch 5 I'd ask for at least a 70-75% discount, It was pulled from Cincy Time-Waner as well. I wonder how many in Cincy are actually able to view Ch 5 now?
July 11, 201214 yr We got some local news from Rochester, NY this evening. It was pretty awful and actually made me appreciate the quality of our local news broadcasts. Pretty amazing the difference really; though I admit I don't know how large Rochester is. In Louisville it's our CBS affiliate that was taken off the air. Does Hearst Media own the NBC affiliate that is affected in NKY?
