Is this place a bar/restaurant, just a bar? Do they have bands or DJ's on weekends? Is it country music? Seems like there is always a crowd on the deck area on weekends.

It's a bar/restaurant. It's sectioned off. Right when you walk in the left is more of the restaurant area and the right in more of the bar area where a few pool tables are located. They don't have bands or DJs just a music machine people pick songs to play. TONS of TV's everywhere. Probably 10+ on the left side and 7 or 8 on the right side. It's a great place to watch multiple sports/games. Also they have a patio area out of the left side that you can site outside and play cornhole.

7 days a week and twice on Sunday. Longnecks is a great sports bar. The wings are average but they have a solid menu.

It's a very good sports bar. They serve wings that are pretty good IMO. I like both places, I grew up on Barleycorn's after Grade school/HS basketball game so I still like that place. If you are going mainly to watch sports I would pick Longnecks.

I go along with HT. Great place to watch games. I really like the bucket specials. 8.50 domestic when the Reds hit a home run (also the everday happy hour price}. They do have music occasionally. A favorite is steak night on Thursdays. Steak, potato for 12 bucks. Ribeye or New York strip. Steaks come from Eberts in Newport. I think if you add a salad and a bucket, it's 20 bucks.

Agreed......a great place to hang while waiting for the ol soccer practice to complete......

I think Barleycorn's is way below average & overpriced. Longneck's is solid but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there.

 

I think they have a beer special on Tuesdays...maybe all beers $2.

I went a month ago and they do have a very good Cuban sandwich.

They also have a pot roast pizza that I have heard is awesome. My favorite is the chicken bacon ranch. we've been going to Shortnecks though. Lot closer to the Crunch compound.

I would always choose Longnecks over Barleycorns and not even think twice about it. Much better food and I think its better priced too. They have a great variety on their menu for food and beers.

 

The best night during the week to go is Tuesday night, every beer they have is $2. Also trivia night. I love this place.

 

We even went to their Halloween party this part year, which was a great time, and they did bring in a live band for that.

My roommate gets that sandwich every time, and it is very good. They have some good appetizers as well. I'm a big fan of their Fried Egg Burger.

I think a few buddies of mine and I might be in attendance as well. More for thh $2 beers and trivia though though haha! Might see ya down there.

 

Last year from about August until November we were there every Tuesday for trivia. Definitely a good time and helps break up the work week a little with good friends.
