Longneck's in Wilder, Ky.?

Featured Replies

Hey, hey, let's not go getting too awful crazy. It's not like I've advocated Applebee's or O'Charley's as some great place. I'm just saying that I think NoKy folks hold Barleycorn's at a much higher regard than it deserves.

If you want to read between the lines, feel free. Just make sure you're reading lines down by your ankles. Lots better choices in NoKy than those three lowlights.

I agree with you & I was not complimenting Applebee's or O'Charley's when I compared them to Barleycorn's. :D

The outside seating is okay at the Florence location. Lakeside Park is the best outdoor patio for Barleycorn's.

I'm with Jim Schue...I don't see the infatuation with Barleycorn's & honestly I would prefer Applebee's/O'Charley's.

Wasn't referring to the outside seating. I was referring to the outdoor bar only. I don't know of many outdoor bars in NKY. The one at Barleycorns in Boone County is a great spot to watch a Reds game on a nice evening.

As far as outdoor dining, I agree with you on the Lakeside patio.

They have one on the patio at Mio's in Ft. Thomas.

Yeah but who wants to go to Fort Thomas? :D

Never been particularly impressed with Barleycorn's, and always felt like NoKy folks had some idealized image of the place that just doesn't exist anymore.

I always wondered about that also. The one in downtown Cincinnati was ok to go to back in the early 80's but grew old fast. It had a very limited kitchen but was a decent place to start out a night.

My favorite was the one on the river in Newport. Wish they would reopen a place on the river.

Will have to check that out. Outdoor bars are rare.

The Fort Thomas police love when others from outside the city visit.

Who says we let everybody in?

That was a great place to go on a nice night. Unfortunately my wife would get motion sickness so we didn't get there very many times.

Not a lot of parking at Mio's, is the Swim Club lot open for overflow?

I think many locals just walk to it. There is a fair amount of parking within a short distance though.

I keep hearing that Fort Thomas pizza is really good. What say you Fort Thomas peeps.

I like it for quick take-out, but I like Mio's better.

Yappy hour at Shortnecks tonite. Large cheese pizza, 6 wings, and a bucket of Ultras. 17.50
