PETTY PETA TONY shows how PETTY he is

Hill - WAR 2.2 and his DWAR is 0.1

Phillips - WAR 2.2 and DWAR 1.2

Stats are fun.

So neither are All-Star quality?

The scale on Baseball-Reference has 5+ as being all star quality.

I answered your question. I clearly said both players deserve to be on the team. I'm not really sure how you missed it.

You're just placing the blame for Phillips in the wrong place. Uggla getting voted in ruined any chance he had. Cincy needs to step up and vote for BP.

Place all the blame for Cueto on La Russa if you want.

Saw that, and no you didn't answer my question. Perhaps you should read the question again.

Did I read correctly that a Cub got selected who has 28 RBis and just lost his starting job to a kid called up from AAA?

Disagree. He's got a a little better average, and one more HR, but Phillips is the by far the best defensively. Who would you rather have on your team based on this year alone?

How much of this falls on BP's hotdogging style? He is not a popular player amongst other teams. If the other players had voted him in this would not be an issue. Custom definitely should have been on the team. Let me ask you this, however: If Baker were in LaRussa's place and the pitchers were Carpenter and Cueto and Carpenter had the better numbers do you think he would pick him, ir his own guy with 10 wins and very good overall numbers?

Letting players vote is only slightly better than letting fans vote.

There's simply no way to know the answer to your question on the BP debate.

Cueto would probably be there if not for the fight. But it's pretty hard to argue even Cueto over the players the La Russa picked. Keep in mind that Lance Lynn was a players vote...

As I said, both players deserve to be there, as do many others who were left out. There's no way to know what would have happened without the fight two years ago.

You've still yet to answer my question...

What was your question?

The fact that Phillips isn't starting falls on the fans and no one else. Heck the giants fans got kung fu panda starting at 3rd over David Wright who could possibly be MVP. Looking the votes on MLB tv, Uggla only had about 3.5 million votes which pales in comparison to josh hamilton's 11 million. Basically what I am saying is if Cincy did their part, Phillips would be starting no question. Uggla had the least votes out of all all star starters.

What was your question?

Who are you taking BP over? You just said he's the best 2B. You can't take him over Altuve, the Astros have to have someone...

You can't take him over Uggla, because the fans vote him in. I guess a case could be made for taking him over Desmond. But Desmond still has an advantage in OPS over BP...

LaHair, Desmond, Castro are 3 off the top of my head.

What about what I asked you earlier concerning Phillips and Cueto?

Vote him in and there is no argument...

I voted 50 times and Im sure many of us on here did the same. We the fans can't help the market we are in.

La Russa didn't pick LaHair or Castro. You can only make a case for Desmond.

According to MLB web site, LaRussa chose Ruiz, Desmond, Bruce, Stanton, Hamels, Papelbon, Kershaw, Miley and Street.

Cueto has a better ERA but those other guys are two of the best. Miley is the only person from ARI.

If this game is going to be the deciding factor of who gets home field in the World Series they need to stop letting fans, players and coaches choose teams.

I voted 50 times and Im sure many of us on here did the same. We the fans can't help the market we are in.

The Cincy fans showed up and voted Votto in as the final player. Why can't they show up and vote BP in as the starter?
