PETTY PETA TONY shows how PETTY he is

Featured Replies

Uggla had the VERY least votes of any all star starter. We all know Atlanta isn't the greatest sports town. As passionate as Cinci is about the reds, I feel as if the voting performance should have been better.

Quote from Cueto:

"I see that I have great numbers. I thought the way I pitched this year, I'd have a chance to go to the All Star game. I don't know what happened. I don't know of the manager of the All Star game is ticked at me because I went out with one of his girlfriends."

Johnny Cueto speaking about his snub

La Russa had to pick a #Padre & a pitcher, so he took Street. That couldn't have helped Cueto, McDonald, Bumgarner & others.
Shouldn't you be giving Jerry Crasnick credit for this quote? Unless of course you are Jerry Crasnick.

I cut and pasted the whole tweet. I assumed it had his name on there. It'd not like I was trying to take credit for what he said, I was simply reposting it...

I answered your question. I clearly said both players deserve to be on the team. I'm not really sure how you missed it.

You're just placing the blame for Phillips in the wrong place. Uggla getting voted in ruined any chance he had. Cincy needs to step up and vote for BP.

Place all the blame for Cueto on La Russa if you want.

So your saying that a player doesn't get voted into the allstar game because his own home fans don't vote for him? I thought all MLB fans voted on allstar selections, not just Cincy fans. Perhaps MLB baseball fans don't think BP is an all star.

If Cincy fans showed up to vote for BP like they did Votto a few years back we wouldn't even have this discussion. BP would have won the 2B vote in a landslide...

The Cincy fans showed up and voted Votto in as the final player. Why can't they show up and vote BP in as the starter?

Maybe Cincy fans don't think he is an All Star. Perhaps Cincy fans are getting tired of BP hot dogging it on the field.

Maybe Cincy fans are lazy and just don't vote. I'm guessing that's more of the case.

Votto is an MVP and having another MVP year. Safe to say a lot of those votes were from people other than Reds fans.

But you just said they voted for Votto.

I'd be willing to bet the majority of his votes in the 2010 final vote came from Reds fans.

But you just said they voted for Votto.

You must have missed the part about the 2010 final vote...

Votto had 821,646 votes before that final vote.

Where were the Reds fans?

You must have missed the part about the 2010 final vote...

I did indeed miss that part.

If it weren't for Tony La Russa Johnny Cueto, and Dat Dude Brandon Phillips would be in the All-Star Game too! Who agrees?

If we are going to compare the 2 (Votto and BP) then that might explain it right there. Votto, is respected in other MLB cities for how he plays, and how he carries himself. Phillips, not so much. Therefore, concerning votes from other cities (perhaps even votes in Cincy) one gets more votes than the other. Perhaps those that do not like BP, voted for the next 2B in line as a hope that BP wouldn't have enough votes make the team.

The old thought, our guys doesn't deserve it, but lets make sure this guy don't get it either.
