July 2, 201214 yr ^ I wouldn't go that far. Complicity, obstruction of justice, etc. A sad, sad situation. I know it is a bit of a reach, but if they would have reported the rapes they could have prevented other from being raped. Maybe the name of the crime should be different, but the penalty should be the same.

They've NEVER sent, nor received an email....and they're relative spring chickens compared to JoePa. AND...I send emails to people at work all the time and there's always about a 90% chance someone will tell me they didn't receive it....and that's why they didn't answer me or know what I was trying to tell them. I always feel a sort of vindication when I dredge said e-mails up out of my sent box and simply hit "resend".

As far as I know he never read an e-mail that didn't pass through his assistant's computer, and I'm pretty sure he's never sent one without lots of hand-holding. There's a computer sitting at his house that's been there for three years now, unused. He and my mom are horrified of it.

But I do not think that is what people are up in arms about. It is the email(s) from Curley to Spanier and Schultz that implicate Joe Pa. It went beyond "reporting it to those above him and following protocol". Again, Paterno was as high as it got at Penn State. Curley was a former QB. The guy ran the University whether he ever read an email or not.

In the meantime, the coaches that get it are hitting them up daily with texts and emails. Text and emails come along, FSU and PSU get left behind. I can't remember any great teams in the last ten years from either of them. Coincidence? Additionally, someone HAD to be reading the emails going to the head football coaches inbox. I know not all head coaches answer all emails but they see most of them.
