Losers clearly are any freshman that came back that were projected lottery last year. Barnes, PJ3, T. Jones, and Sullinger. Next biggest set of losers are coaches at major D1 programs unless the 2 year rule is adopted. There is no way a coach should advise a kid to come back for any reason if he's projected top 20.

 

The main reason all of those guys came back was the lockout. If not for that I doubt more than 1 of the 4 stayed...

I believe that D. Miller and D. Lamb both came out winners, considering the teams that drafted them and their opportunity to make the roster.

 

I think I saw where someone from the Bucks organization said they definitely plan on keeping Lamb around, so it sounds like he should lock up a contract for sure. I feel confident that Miller will too.

 

I am officially a Hornets fan. I've never truly had an NBA team that I follow very closely, it was more about individual players. Now, I can safely say that I have a TEAM to root for. Excited to see how much they improve over the next couple of years.

Agreed. Weird year. It will be almost impossible to find a good reason to come back going forward.

To be fair Sullinger slipped mostly because of his back but scouts just got another year to watch these guys and find more flaws in their game.

The Bulls had a good night getting a good young point guard in Teague who can get some quality playing time with Rose out then be an experienced back up when he returns.

I have heard experts say that Millers best case NBA comp is Danny Green and his worst case NBA comp is Francisco Garcia...The most interesting and I think spot on comparison that I have heard is Landry Fields who was also a 2nd Round pick and has started almost every Knicks game the past 2 years and played a key role putting up 8 or 9 points a game...Fields and Miller are very similar in size and their games also resemble each other...They are both mature players and good defenders although I think Darius is a better shooter/scorer and also more athletic...I could see Darius stepping into the Hornets starting lineup from the get go and becoming the Hornets go to defender, grabbing rebounds and not making mistakes...

 

The Hornets don't have much outside of Davis, Rivers and Gordon and I'm sure they will sign a couple decent FA's with their cap space but I just get the feeling Darius will be one of those guys that will be hard to keep out of the starting lineup or at the least become the 6th man...Between Davis, Rivers and Gordon plenty of shots will get put up and Darius Miller will be that guy that can play multiple positions, is smart, makes jump shots, plays within himself, and is never negative out on the court...I see Darius Miller having a similar start to his NBA Career that Landry Fields has had thus far and long term I think he can be a Shane Battier type only more athletic and potentially better than both of these guys...Miller will have no problem making the Hornets squad and it is a great team for him to begin his career with, he sees at least 15-20 minutes a game next year...

Another loser I forgot about. Indiana taking Miles Plumlee at 26. I'd love to know what they were thinking making this pick.

Rose is out until January or February. I read online that the Rockets drafted all those players in hopes of offering them to Orlando for Howard but Orlando was yawning at the offer

 

Gonna take a lot to get D-Howard from the Magic, if he even does get moved. GM wants to wait until they get a coach to see if Howard and the Coach can get along

I don't blame them for hanging on as long as they can, but they will look dumber if he leaves and they get nothing for him.

Another local loser was Tu Holloway who decided to come back to Xavier, when he could have easily been drafted in the late 1st round and early 2nd round last year. He went undrafted and I'm hoping he signs as an undrafted free agent with a good team
