And Heath Bell gives up 4 runs, including a two out, 2 run HR to Yadier Molina, and the Cardinals tie the Marlins at 6.

And the Cards take the lead in the 10th.

Motte gives up 1 in the bottom of the 10th but closes it out for a Cards win.

(I saw Kono do it on Hawaii 5-0) :D

Watched the first UFC ever today (have saw it a few times but first in a while) and I'm almost certain the very first fight in UFC history involved the shrimp truck guy. He got owned for the record.

About the game tonight a few things:

1. Latos was great tonight, the first inning told the story as he pitched out of trouble and cruised most of the rest of the night.

2. The offense wasn't great but they did enough to win, Bruce with a great hit, Stubbs with a good game, but Cozart is killing me at leadoff right now, although not sure what the answer is.

3. Nice call HT.

4. I was worried with Chapman in the pen, that's a bad sign right?

5. Let's see if the Reds can start a new winning streak.

I know everyone gave Dusty grief over Leake last night, pulling him at 86 pitches. But I didn't see any comments on the Twins pulling their starter in the bottom of the ninth after he had only thrown 82 pitches.

Everyone gave Dusty grief? I guess i must have missed a lot of post somehow. Getslow is the only Twins fan I know on BGP. Perhaps he could comment on his manager's move.

Sparky Anderson never would let Ken Griffey, or anybody steal when Joe Morgan was at the plate. If you're not going to put on a hit and run with Votto batting, there's no reason to give Stubbs the green light to steal when Votto is at the plate unless you tell Votto what pitch Stubbs is going on so he can let him steal the base straight up.

I remember reading that was more because of the prima donna Joe Morgan, than it was Sparky's decision. However, also smart of Sparky not to tick off one of his best players. Also read that Griffey was a little bitter about this.

Free pizza and ice cream for everyone at the stadium last night since the Reds pitchers threw 11+ K's.

Nice call HT.

Not so nice of a call by Clyde...so far at least. 35,000 on a Monday night against a subpar team is extremely solid for the Reds. Are fans getting excited about this team? Or was there something else going on that I don't really know about?

Lots of things happened in this game that don't usually happen:

1) Latose pitched great

2)Latose has two line drive singles

3) runners on 1st and second and Phillips bunts to move the runners over

4) Bruce gets a clutch hit to drive in two

5) Votto no hits

6) Stubbs on base three times

7) Phillips finally steals a base, third base

8) Dusty lets the starter finish the game

How often does this happen?

Put me in the camp giving Dusty grief on Sunday for pulling Leake after 86 pitches. (And for pulling him after 4 1/2 innings Leake's previous start).

Re: last night, Latos had mowed down the Brewers all night. Runs for the brew crew were likely to remain at a premium.

In the top of the 7th the Brewers were down by one run, had 2 runners on, 2 outs. Gallardo was pulled for a pinch hitter.

On Sunday, Leake had breezed through the 8th. The Reds were up by one run. Having thrown only 86 pitches Leake could have finished. Dusty pulled him for Chapman who has been great in the past and will be great again in the future, but for right now is very shaky.

I remain of the opinion the Dusty should have let Leake finish on Sunday and do not take issue with Roenicke pulling Gallardo last night.

Leake cruised through his 8th.

Diamond gave up a 2 run go-ahead homer in his 8th.

Again, different situations.

And something happened in this post that always seems to happen with your post.
