Just thinking about the 2 no hitters that I have seen in person. There were some real odd things about both of them. I saw Jim Maloney throw a no hitter against the Astros on April 30th 1969. We walked from Covington to Crosley field to see the game. We were so pumped about seeing the no no that we decided to go back the next night. One of the guys that we went with was sick that day so we didn't go. Don Wilson pitched a no hitter against the Reds. On June 23rd 1971 I saw Rick wise throw a no no against the Reds at Riverfront. The only base runner was Davey Concepcion who walked on a 3-2 pitch in the 6th inning. The odd thing about that game was that Rick Wise hit 2 home runs in the game. He is the only pitcher to hit 2 home runs in a game he threw a no hitter in. Two others have hit 1 home run in their no hitters.
