June 22, 201214 yr Author Cant wait to hear what Skip has to say on first take tomorrow...Here is a taste : It was a pleasure the last 4 games watching LeBron finally accept what he CAN"T DO and focus solely on what he does better than anyone else. By that he means he is not a perimeter player and accepted that and drove the ball. In fairness, I think he is correct. OKC dared James to shoot the ball. When he did, he would brick it. I do not recall him making any shot outside the paint last night. What I find most amazing about James is his versatility. The guy can absolutely dominate a game from the outside without having to take a single jump shot. Think about that for a second. I have said for some time the guy simply sucks at shooting. For years I have been begging him to just drive the ball because he is the most gifted player in NBA history. He has refused to do so and he really refused to do so in the closing seconds of games. Whether it was to have an excuse for shooting it from long range or refusal of wanting to go to the foul line, he overcame that this postseason. Loved his post-game remarks on how last season humbled him and the Finals were an all time low.
June 22, 201214 yr For last night's victory I would agree with that. To me after game 2 I had a feeling the series would not come back to OKC. Last night was arguably Miami's best game of the season. At least from the role player's perspective. James is going to get his 25, 6, and 6 just for showing up. He distributed it well as the de facto point guard. I have thought for some time he is the best passer in the league. He's a very good passer and I'm not trying to take anything away from him but he was just simply passing to the open man. Passing lanes were WIDE open.

My guess is he will give him props via backhanded slaps the whole time. He did pick the Heat preseason. Though Skip is about the only person that has nailed LeBron, his game, and his psyche from the onset. From the start of his career people have wanted to anoint James as one of the greatest ever and Skip stood strong in that he never bought in to it. While it may be laugh now day against Skip and his black helicopter world, the fact it took James as long as it did or 9 years to have this day, it says to me he is not totally off base in his assessment.

June 22, 201214 yr I'm glad the Heat won and I hope they win the next 10 to prove clowns like Skip Bayless wrong. Whether he had televised "the decision" or not people would hate him. Never understood people hating the great ones so much. Enjoy watching them play because they can't play forever.

Sure he was younger when he started, but trying to compare the two as far as hype, physical skill set, and intangibles is night and day, imo. I think trying to gauge how good a player is by titles alone is silly, but to fully dismiss Bron's misses until this point is equally as silly. If I told you the most physically gifted player of all time had played 9 seasons, owned the league's best record twice, was a 3 time MVP, and owned 0 championships, which of those does not flow naturally off the tongue? I think his (Skip's) relentless obsession with James is borderline sickening :lol: but I do not fully dismiss what he has said.

"The Decision" was the PR equivalent of Chernobyl. Winning can cure all though. A good point was brought up last night. While "The Decision" was a dumb move, it may have been a blessing in disguise for James. It humbled him and put his failures of last season on the greatest stage. He was not going to experience that feeling again. I do question the staying power of the potential Heat dynasty. Good thing for them, who in the East do you really see challenging them? Chicago? Really. Indiana? I would not trade anyone of the big 3 for any of the Pacer players. Knicks? Posers.
June 22, 201214 yr It is also his 3rd trip to the finals and includes taking a very average at best Cleveland team. Did Skip make a valid point here and there? Sure. Would be hard not to given that he spends about 5 hours a week talking about him. Bottom line he got a ring before Jordan got his first. Time is on his side...
