June 9, 201214 yr I just think that Wilt was the single most dominant player in history. Russell was incredible as well, but if you put Wilt on those Celtics teams then he has all the rings and Russell doesn't. Wilt led the league in points and rebounds (nearly every year) and even led in assist one year. While true I am wondering how many Finals did Wilt play against the Celtics? I always though that Russell more than held his own against Wilt as well. Didn't Wilt play with Jerry West? Didn't he play with other Laker greats as well? I'm only 37 so I am not sure. Do you have these answers?
June 9, 201214 yr 1st Team 1. Magic 2. MJ 3. Bird 4. Kareem 5. Shaq (in his prime) 2nd Team 1. Stockton 2. Kobe 3. LBJ 4. Duncan 5. Wilt 3rd Team 1. Big O 2. Jerry West 3. Dr. J 4. Malone 5. Russell
June 9, 201214 yr The more impressive thing about all these lists is the number of them who played for the Original Dream team, talking about a dominate squad. Although I still feel strongly on the issue that today's modern version of the Dream Team could give them a serious game.
June 9, 201214 yr Author Kinda got Kareem out of position at Power Forward but all three teams are solid.

Do you have these answers? They played 8 series against each other with the Celtics winning 7 times. Russell's teams won all four seventh games against Chamberlain's—the combined margin was nine points. Chamberlain was named All-NBA first team seven times to Russell's three, but Russell won 4 MVP's to 3 for Wilt. Head to head, Chamberlain outscored Russell 30 to 14.2 per game and outrebounded him 28.2 to 22.9 in the regular season, and also in the playoffs, he outscored him 25.7 to 14.9 and outrebounded him 28 to 24.7. The comparison between the two are often simplified to a great player (Chamberlain) versus a player who makes his team great (Russell), an individualist against a team player. Russell retired the year Wilt went to the Lakers.

Wilt put 50+ up against him 7 times. Averaged 28/28 against him head-to-head over his career.
June 9, 201214 yr Kinda got Kareem out of position at Power Forward but all three teams are solid. I know he played Center, but for his time he was so athletic and could score the ball so well he could have played PF just fine.
June 9, 201214 yr I can't believe that I am doing this... Pg. Big O 2g. His airness and egoness Sf. King James (I don't like him, but come on. Put him on the 86 Celts and see what happens. And I'm a huge Bird fan) PF Mailman C. Hakeem
June 9, 201214 yr Okay. I'm sold on Wilt. Thanks for the info. I kind of forgot about Lebron also. I'll go..... Magic MJ Lebron Barkley Wilt
June 9, 201214 yr Rondo Meeks Prince Patterson Cousins  To be honest though Magic Jordan Lebron KG (My favorite player in the NBA right now other than Rondo) Wilt
June 9, 201214 yr The only two guarantees for me on this list would be Jordan at the 2 & Wilt at the 5. I'm thinking over the other three spots.
June 10, 201214 yr Author After some follow up research on my part I now realize that Magic isn't as cut and dried #1 PG has I thought. The Big O statstically pretty much takes him out across the board....I've got to think about it. Big O over Magic???
June 10, 201214 yr Some of you not picking The Big O, have you ever seen him play? The man did things with a basketball that weren't done back in his day, heck a lot of people thought he was too big to be a guard and lets not forget he never played in the day of the three point shot and still scored a ton. No The Big O is to basketball what players like Williams was to baseball, and Jim Brown to football, they were and still are the best.
