May 5, 201214 yr ok. Born to Run was great. Born in the USA was overrated. Decent lyricist, but a lot of his songs sound the same. Instrumentally, his group was far from innovative. They played straight ahead rock and roll with a lot of energy. You could argue his music never really evolved.

May 5, 201214 yr It was perhaps 15 years into Springsteen's career and I was not a Springsteen fan. A friend of mine was a HUGE fan! Springsteen was coming to Indy for a concert so I went with him. On the drive to Indy we listened to Springsteen the whole way and I read lyrics to his songs on the drive. The concert was his "typical" 3 hour long energy filled show and I walked out a Springsteen fan.

May 5, 201214 yr I don't find him appealing in the least. It's not really about his political stance at all. Just a personal preference. Of course, Melissa Etheridge doesn't appeal to me either.
