You know what, threads such as these would be so much more productive if people agree to meet like men in person and have a grown man conversation, with the intention and not only venting, but also getting enlightened. Anonymous posting is counterproductive.

I've always made myself available to meet any BGPer whenever possible and my face is in my profile picture. I'm far from anonymous. Shoot, I'm looking forward to the day I get to hook up with my BGP twitter crew.

Skinheads make me nervous too.:ylsuper:

Skinheads are scum as bad as the KKK. Both are useless.

They scare me because of their ignorance and spur of the moment violence on anyone.

I'm going to stick to the topic of this thread. If you want to talk about all the world's wrongs then go ahead. I'll address your obvious issues with blacks though.

Your first sentence after..."Are you kidding" reeks of racist thoughts or beliefs. "Minorities are given more rights in our country than any other country on the face of this earth." Seriously? Last I checked I had the exact same rights you did. Last I saw I am free to breathe the same air you breathe, drink the same water you drink, work at the same place you work at, use the same toilets as you.....you'll definitely need to provide some more examples of these rights that I haven't heard about yet because if I can use them to my advantage I am going to. Word up. What strikes me though is the disgust you seem to have of minorities being in your country. Read that sentence out loud. It sounds awful. And if I am wrong by all means correct me but I have read it aloud multiple times and it still sounds awful. And then you say "for God's sake our President is a minority." And even he has been the butt of racially insensitive jokes sent by email from elected officials to one another. I was hesitant to even respond to you because some people will never have a clue or any true perspective on what it is like to actually grow up as a minority in this country and you seem to fit that description. Yes, I am profiling you based on things you have said on here. I profile you as close minded and bitter. If I am wrong then I will be open minded and waiting for you to convince me otherwise. I don't see things in black and white in my life or who I hang around and talk to and I definitely don't keep a scorecard on who has the most rights in our country that I don't think is rotted from within. I'll save that for the close minded bitter folks and I'll keep trying to stay positive about our future.

As for your black on black crime comment.....outrage about black on black crime has been going on since I was in junior high. Rappers such as Kanye West, Common, The Roots, even Jay Z and many other rappers speak on black on black crime in their lyrics. People such as Tavis Smiley and Bomani Jones write articles or speak on black and black violence as well. The outrage about black on black violence is there. Will you see the outrage on Fox News or any of the other cable news channels? Doubtful. Very doubtful. But the outrage is there. Unfortunately no one has produced a productive answer as to how to stop it.

I agree with everything you said there. I do, however, think that History was not saying so much that blacks have more/better rights than non-minorities in our country. He was saying compared to other countries worldwide, the United States is especially hospitable and generous in rights-giving to its minorities. I could be totally wrong, but that is how I read it originally, and it may help to take what you coin as something that sounds "awful" as a little less awful.

Tried to reply yesterday with some long winded reply, but I see it didn't post so I will restate.

You and I have the same rights in our country and that is the way it should be. My point is that minorities are given MORE RIGHTS in our country than any other on earth. We have a minority as President for a case in point. Do you believe a non-Jew would ever be the leader of Isreal? How about all those equal rights for women in middle eastern countries?

As to insensitive jokes, I am not dismissing that, but it does come with the territory. Countries make jokes about one another. Example the Germans think the Poles are dumb, they call them "Pollacks". Does that make it true or right? No. Insensitive? Perhaps. States-have you never heard a Kentuckian make fun of a person from West Virginia or Tennessee? (Insert teeth ot tooth joke here) It happens all the time.

I do get sick of people in our country (of every color) acting like victims, and I do believe we are rotting from within. The idea of personal responsibility is gone. The government is there to protect you is the thought process. That hasn't worked over sustained periods of time in any country anywhere. There is a price for everything and a people (country) cannot run up a constant debt. At some point it has to be paid. There are millions in our country right now that cannot grasp that concept.

As for black on black crime that to me is a serious issue. I am not nearly as closed minded as you think, and I don't believe you are either. It would suprise you to know that I have JayZ's Black album in my vehicle right now. I am sure I don't grasp all the content since I don't have the same perspective you do, but I do know that black on black crime is exceedingly high, and isn't going to be solved by any government. This community needs to address this themselves and Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton have been on the case long enough for smart people to realize they aren't the answer.

I check out all sources and form my ideas from my own experience. I have had the pleasure of meeting Walter Williams and even driving him to some events. He is black and one I have enormous respect for. He isn't buying Al and Jesse's self pocket lining bull either. I watch as best I can MSNBC, FOX, and CNN, but ultimately form my own opinion.

I think everybody going around wearing hoodies to raise consiousness of this issue is silly. Sorry that is what I think. Riots and looting being started by folks-what good does that do?. In many urban areas, grocery store owners get tired of being robbed from so they move their stores. Then the community at large complains that the urban areas can't buy fresh produe because they have no local store. They had a local store, but ran them off through crime. See how it is a never ending cycle?

I've met numerous BGPers, including many that post in the politics and religion forums - RTS, Rockmom, Jim Schue, Adopted Ad, Leatherneck, Henry, Cammando, Birds Fan, and others...not to mention those that I know and have met through sports. Many of us are not posting anonymously.

#1 - I disagree with your premise. You only mention middle eastern countries denying rights, but you don't mention all of the Western European countries who have a much more diverse population in a small area than the US.

#2 - Sometimes people simply are victims, who need help taking responsibility. Just because you think someone is not a victim does not make that true. Regardless of how you look at it, Trayvon was a victim.

#3 - Really, JayZ :D

Me Too

Dang it! I knew that if I put down any names, that I'd get in trouble. Sorry, guys! :isurrender:

There is no color in heaven, Jesus said to "Love each other as yourself". I'm afraid the world will never be able to do this. We can't even do that on BGPs. :idunno:
