^That's still no excuse for murdering him.

Am I the only one who would've done the same thing in Martin's shoes (assuming he initiated the altercation)?

If some stranger is following me in a car, then follows me down a side street, I'm feeling threatened and going on the defensive immediately. The best defense is to turn the tables and go on the offensive. He was simply standing his ground, not Zimmerman.

You are straying from the point. You are saying it is irrelevant. If he is shown to have been high it is very much relevant... in the courtroom.

The toxicology tests gives the Trayvon Martin haters some ammo and I really hate that. I've seen and heard some crazy statements about Trayvon and with these results the irrational has some fuel.

I am like UKMF I don't think it is or should be relevant but I know the defense is likely going to use this information. They'd be stupid not to.

Report is that the shot was from 1 to 18 inches away.

Traces of weed found in Trayvon's blood.

If there were powder burns as reported I would think it would be much closer than the 18 inches but I know nothing about guns.

I'm with those who don't think the traces of pot are relevent to the situation but I'm sure the defense will make them relevent.

IMO someone following you is not an excuse for you to beat the crap out of them.

If I am the defense attorney I tell the jury the following:

My guy is a loose cannon. He is overzealous when it comes to calling the local police to report potential bad guys. He may even have a bit of a problem with black kids. He did approach Trayvon and asked why he was in the neighborhood. He did not start an altercation.

Now what does the prosecutor do?

No pot truly has no bearing, but in a court of law it would. This is the defenses biggest piece of evidence. When you have the law, pound the law, when you have the facts, pounds the facts, and when you have nothing, pound the table. Now Zimmerman has at least something he can sell to the jury. Now he needs to focus on jury selection. But once again, the fact remains, that the special prosecutor knew this and still had Zimmerman arrested. There was no toxicology done on Zimmerman, and there should have been. Dead men tell no tales. But the tale Zimmerman told to police had more holes in it than Jamaican summer shirts.

To answer Clyde, after you said all that, I simply ask was Trayvon violating the Neighborhood Watch program by following a suspect and having a firearm while on patrol. No and he had traces of a drug that many Americans are ambivalent about, and is medically dispensed in many states. While Florida isn't one of those states, let the record reflect that Floridians are also wise enough to realize that the drug is known to not make people aggressive, and in fact it has been widely known that it has the exact opposite effect. The only drugs that make you truly aggressive are alcohol and stimulants such as crack and cocaine. But Zimmerman was never tested for toxins.

That is even if we known Trayvon was high at the time. It takes 30 days for marijuana to leave your system and Trayvon was supended from school 10 days ago. Kids will be kids. This is a kid from Miami, our state, and one of the most liberal cities on Earth. Some behaviors are accepted and conditioned, unfortunately. Kids experimenting with drugs, unfortunately is a serious issue. Others have experimented with stronger drugs and have become POTUS. Alcohol and drugs such as cocaine and crack make you aggressive, not marijuana as what was found in trayvon's system. While no toxicology was done on Zimmerman, we know he was drunk with power because he followed and killed a high school student whom was headed home to give his little brother the bag of (whips out a pack of red skittles out of her bra) the Skittles he bought for his brother. But he never got the chance give them to his little brother. Why? Because of Mr. Zimmerman needed someone to play cops and robbers with while he hallucinated about being J. Edgar Hoover during the game.

The burden is on the prosecution. You didn't present anything that shows that the defendant was anything other than a cop-wannabe. I've already stipulated as his attorney that he's not a good guy. Where did you show that my client did anything illegal? There was a confrontation. A witness saw Trayvon on top of my client. My client has the right to defend himself EVEN if he's a racist and even if he's a bad guy and even if he's a whack job. Show me and the jury where my client did anything other than defend himself.

New MSNBC report shows says cops believe the confrontation was totally avoidable on Zimmerman's part, as Trayvon was running home in the general direction of someone would go whom lived in that area. Cop wannabe and Zimmerman was on drugs for anxiety and insominia. He was impaired. The weed in Trayvon's system was not enough to suggest impairment, accroding to toxologists.

As far not responding to your post, circumstantial thinking, aka deduction, is there for you to do. What was Zimmerman high on? (Oops, later released evidence shows us) Hence manslaughter (legal drugs) as opposed to murder (illegal drugs) Maybe I didn't write it because I've said it so many times before. Zimmerman was bloodied and busted up because Trayvon stood his ground with bare hands. 1983 style

The confortation could have been avoided if TM had been polite and just simply said what he was doing and where he was going. It isn't like Zimmerman drove up and just got out of the car and shot him w/o saying anything.

TM is a victim of other thieves breaking into homes in the neighborhood and police not being there to arrest the criminals. Zimmerman had every right to suspect TM was up to something.

It's a tragedy that happens every day, just watch Nancy Grace and see how many little kids are murdered.

You still have not shown that Zimmerman started the physical confrontation. Without showing that how can you possibly get a murder conviction?

IMO someone following you is not an excuse for you to beat the crap out of them.

And IMO getting the crap beat out of you isn't an excuse to murder the victor. Except apparently in Florida. The state where guys who can't fight can get whipped, kill and then go back home. Oh, and no state income tax either.

It's a dark night and I am walking home. To whom do I owe an answer to? So everyone walking in a hoodie that fits the description deserves to be stopped and questioned by non-law athuority? Sounds like excuse making for Zimmerman. Had no business accosting the boy. Now, we are back to saying that subliminal little natural selection mental balance of white superiority. The white man stopped you, boy, be a good colored boy and answer my questions because I am the white man, and if not, you still are nothing but a colroed boy and will never be on my level. Trayvon should have been polite and answered my questions. Trayvon is guilty of avoiding McGruff's warning in relation to stranger danger. He should have kept going.

Oh and remember, many of you said Trayvon is not a kid and is a 17-year old high school junior. I have to treat Trayvon as an adult, but can't assume kids have sex in high school. Who is inconsistent. We all have double standards. Thanks. I feel very vindicated.

It's an everyday occurence, kids are murdered? But is it something we are supposed to not fight. I find this point particulary interesting because I can rleate it to a situation in my city. When black men were getting popped by cops left and right for a spell, many peopl made excuses for the cops. But when a cow broke loose from a slaughterhouse truck, many of the same people were on the news saying don't shoot the cow. Interesting how Tryavon;s murder make you say it is what it is and charge it to the game. Nope.

If a cop gets assaulted by a civilian can the cop shoot and kill the civilian or can a cop only shoot if a weapon is drawn?
