Trinity (5-4) enjoyed the week off and now faces a road trip to Cincinnati Moeller. Moeller (6-3) suffered a loss to Lakewood, OH St Edward Eagles (7-2) on Saturday. On the first play from scrimmage, Moeller allowed a touchdown. It was an 80-yard jaunt up the middle. Later, the Crusaders muffed a punt inside the 20 that led to a field goal by the Eagles. Another turnover in the second quarter cost the Crusaders, as they threw a pick-six that covered around 15 yards. Despite the loss, the Fighting Crusaders appear to have a lock on making the Ohio Division 1 (top level of 7 divisions) playoffs. Ohio selects post-season teams based on the Harbin ratings, which take in account all defeated opponents and the teams these teams defeated. Enrollments of all the schools in these categories are also taken into consideration. A win over Trinity could secure a home playoff game for Moeller.

Moeller’s offense is directed by 6’4” 215 lb. Sr. QB Matt Crable. Middle guard Elijah Taylor (Sr. 6’3” 275 lbs) anchors the Moeller defense. 31 of the 87 players listed on the Moeller roster are in the Class of ’15. Moeller has 4 players tipping the scales at 280 lbs or more. Another 4 weigh in from 260-275 lbs. 23 others list their weight from 200-245 lbs. Defeating Moeller will be no small task for the Shamrocks.

The Rocks did learn who their first round playoff opponent is November 7. Trinity will travel to Henderson County (4-5). The Colonels are district 1 runners-up after suffering the 42-19 loss to McCracken County (8-1). Henderson County turned the ball over 6 times to the Mustangs last night.
