  1. Another tough loss in a usually a good rival game. LC needs to get something going or they are looking at a 1 and 10 season.

  6. I would agree, in the future LC may benefit from getting kids that would have normally went to Corbin. As far as the schedule goes LC should have the toughest yet. They open with 3A runner-up Somerset, then 5A power Whitley Co, and 1A state champ LCA. I don't mind LC playing the 3, but I don't like LC playing the 3 in a row to start the season.
  7. It had nothing to do with Obama, when the polls show that he still very popular in Mass. This is rejection of the Democratic controlled Congress. This will be a good wake up call for the Democrats. Dems need to get their acts together.
  8. I thought he is the coach in waiting at Texas? He was big on the list last year, but Texas name him the next coach, which ended that. Another name could be Butch Davis. UT was after him last year.
  9. John Gruden He does have UT ties, was a grad coach, and his wife is from Knoxville. Longshot? Yes
  10. :thumb::thumb: I agree 100% but it is expected.
  11. 25 years in a row. :ylsuper::ylsuper::ylsuper: Go Vols:ylsuper::ylsuper:
  12. Could Berry be getting some help back this week? Knox County prosecutors today dropped attempted aggravated armed robbery charges against University of Tennessee football player Janzen Jackson. The DA's office said in a press release that the decision "was made after an intensive investigation by the Knoxville Police Department, numerous interviews of persons with any relevant information on these charges and reveiws of more than 10 hours of video and audio records related to the charges." "The investigation and careful review of all relevant evidence failed to show ... Ms. Montmarquet or Mr. Jackson has prior knowledge that the attempted robbery was going to take place and were unaware something had occurred until after they pulled out of the Pilot store," according to the DA's statement. "Therefore, there is an insufficient legal basis to continue a prosecution against them. www.govolsxtra.com/news/2009/nov/23/da-drops-charges-against-vol-jackson-accused-getaw/
  13. This could be Kentucky's best chance. The Vols defense is in shambles due to injuries, especially at linebacker. Vols will need to play ball control to keep the defense off the field. It will be close. Go with my Vols in a close one. UT 28 UK 23
  14. None exactly why they made a change and paid top dollar for their coaching staff. My guess the same reason UK dished out big bucks to bring in coach Cal. UT wants to get back to a top 10 top 5 program, the same UK wants to get back to one of the best in b-ball.
  15. Kiffin will handle this right, I have no doubt about that. He has already kicked off several players, including one during the season. He will wait it out and sees what happens, right now that is all he can do. High risk kids are a chance you have to take, or if you lucky you may play for the music city bowl every year. Too much money in college sports. UF, Bama, UGA, have all had trouble in recent years. UK basketball signed a coach who take chances on high risk players. Truth be told you don't know what your going to get out of any recruit, the college lifestyle has been known to changed men and women for the better and also for the worse.
  16. Bama only had 1 penalty in the game, which is well below the norm, while UT had 8 or 9, which is almost triple the amount in a game, and most calls against UT was when they had the ball on the tide's side of the field. Kffin, made a good point about why he settled for the field goal, at the end, he didn't want to risk another penalty.
  17. LC will run the ball, about 90% of the time. If you have seen a tape from 1982 not much has changed. LC will mostly be in a power I. I won't be at the game, I have to work. I haven't got to see a game this year. This should be a fun match up, and I believe who ever wins this game will be in the regional finals.
  18. LC will need to come away from the game this week healthy to have a good chance. They will need to physical on defense, and try to keep the score low. LC offense is not as good as in years past, and I don't think they could survive a shootout. LC also doesn't have a history of winning games that are 2hr+ away from LC. Hopefully that will change. If LC comes out like they want to win this game, and not ready to call it a season, they can pull the upset.
  19. I agree the kick was going to be wide, as was with the first block, he was kicking low the whole game, even on the one that Lincoln made was very low, UT will need a lot of work, there special teams is the one area of the team that isn't getting any better. UT will need to recover and get ready for Carolina.
  20. Yeah we don't won't to start sounding like UK fans do we.:laugh:
  21. They didn't call it because they never saw it, the player had his helmet off before the play was dead. Flag is flag the game was NOT over, which a replay from the endzone. Lane Kiffin has asked the league for an explanation, and you may be right, but I'm curious how the SEC will rule, I expect the way you say, mainly because the mistakes by the Refs this year, and it seems every big game in the SEC the refs have blown a big call.
