Bishop Brossart 15 Pendleton County 7
Don't think so.. I heard he hurt his arm pitching last year and the Mustangs pitching coach felt it would be better to have him at second everyday than to miss some of the games due to arm problems. The first home game for the Mustangs is Monday night against Highlands depending on the weather. However they play next friday at the Florence Freedom's Champion Window Field against Holy Cross at 5 o'clock. Should be a good game there.

Hopson makes US team for World Games
I would think he has to play significantly better in AAU if he is getting this kind of attention.

Barth did look very good but Nick and Josh looked good also. However it's hard to tell because it was the first time out for all of them.

Bishop Brossart 15 Pendleton County 7
Justin Barth started and pitched 3 innings, Nick Bezold pitched 2 innings and Josh Anderson pitched 2 innings as well.

Brossart's defense also has some improving to do. They are also very young and are not used to playing with each other yet. They do seem to have some talent though. I think they could be a surprise team to do make a good run in their district this season. They always seem to perform well at the right time every year. I don't see why nor do I think that this year will be any exception.

Pre-season 10th Region Baseball
Yes but when there are no returning starters for that team a freshmen has just as much of a chance as any other player. When that spot has not been taken by any of the players and a freshmen is better than the others, the freshmen deserves to play. No matter if he did or didn't beat someone out. The game is about winning not what is fair. If playing freshmen will help a team win that team should play the freshmen.

Yes they both have potential to make an impact but only time will tell.

This actually is true. Brossart does indeed have two pretty solid frshmen that could probably see some varsity time this season.

Bishop Brossart's Vasity schedule for 2008 looks like this. Even witht he lose of seniors this is still a very tough schedule. About the same as last year's. Best Pitchers in the 10th Region
Pitching has nothing to do with hitting and scoring runs. Yea gave up 6 runs but just because they don't pitch one f their top 3 doesn't mean te can't play offense. The final was 6-4. Brossart probably pitched their 3rd best pitcher at that time and got the victory. Not pitching one of the top 3 is no excuse for not scoring more than four runs in a game. Brossart just played better on that day. Not saying they were a better team for the year. I honestly think they were pretty equal teams but on that particular day Brossart was just better.

Coach's Poll
Like I said they will be better than people think. They still have a lot of talent. They will surprise people.

10th Region Performances
The 2000 Regional Championship when Brossart won on a buzzer beater by Justin Seiter. Has to be one of the greatest ever.

Scott 46 Brossart 44 (37th District)
If you watch the video link provided above you can see one of their coaches down by Brossarts bench right at the end of the video. 35 seconds into the video they move the camera to the far left and you see their coach in a black suit walking back toward his bench from Brossarts bench. It clearly happened because Brossart's Athletic Director has already contacted Scott's Athletic Director. I only wish that Brossart had won so this did not appear to be sour grapes, win or lose this would have been an issue. As to me not dealing with the loss, you may have misread my original post. I said "Once again Congrats to the Eagles and good luck Saturday and in the region." However, CCHS Camel 1, it makes sense to me that you would make such a comment about dealing with a loss because with the sport that you play "YOU" have to deal with losing all the time.

Scott 46 Brossart 44 (37th District)
Great win for the Eagles. Both teams played very hard and it's just a shame that one team had to lose. The one thing I was not impressed with however was the disrespect and immaturity by one of the Eagles coaches. I know it was not the Varsity Head Coach but I'm alsmost positive that it was the JV Head Coach. After the game concluded he ran down to the other end of the court past Brossart's bench and right in front of Brossart's student section. I was very disturbed to see that he started hollering right in the ear of one of the Brossart players and then started taunting the Brossart student section. I wasn't sure what he was hollering but I later confirmed that he was absolutely hollering out profanity towards the Mustangs fans. He then walked to the other end of the court by Scotts bench and started doing the same thing to the Brossart fans at that end of the floor. I know it was a very exciting moment and it is also very easy to just get caught up in the moment but to taunt another teams players and fans by screaming and hollering at them right in their faces is just unnecessary especially coming from a coach. Coaches are supposed to set a good example for the kids and this was in no way close to a good example. Once again I completely understand it is very exciting to win but act like you have been there before, (which they have the past 2 or 3 years) and go through and shake the opposing teams hands with class, then celebrate in the locker room. Just an over all horrible display of respect. Once again Congrats to the Eagles and good luck Saturday and in the region. Represent the 37th District well but most of all do it with class.

Region 9 Golf Results (Boys)
Grant County will win and second is a toss up but I would say second place is between Pendleton, Campbell, and maybe Mason. Not much talent in the region. It seems like the talent level just keeps going down year after year.

Region 9 Golf Results (Boys)
I completely agree. The two players that could beat them would be Phoenix Ramsey and Zach Wright, beacause unless they beat themselves they can not be touched by anyone in the region.

Cov. Scott vs Brossart
I'm saying the same thing I said for the All "A". The Mustangs always come ready to play when they have to. They always step up and play their best ball at this time of the year. Also they have the best Coach in the State and he always knows how to pull out a victory. Mustangs by 10.

Region 9 Golf Results (Boys)
Ok well true on the member part but not on the tips part. The tips at PCC are the gold tees. Phoenix only plays from the blue tees and he just moved back to those from the white tees last year. When the event comes tat he is playing with some of the better golfers at the club and attempts to play from the gold he has a lot of trouble shooting good. I do think Phoenix is a good golfer but the problem is he has not gotten much better since 7th grade. He is a very good kid who loves the game but you are correct, his attitude gets in the way. Zach Wright shot 77 at regionals last year and he just keeps getting better year after year. As for him throwing them in from 50-60 yards, that's great but there are many people who do that. If I remember correctly I was told that Zach Wright threw one in from about 120 last year at AJ Jolly in the Regional tournament on hole number 16 for birdie. First off that a very hard hole to par since the green can be very tricky but to shoot 77 and make that kind of shot under the pressure of a regional tournament at that young of an age can only mean there are still some very good things to come. On the other hand I would say it is between those two players next year to who will win the region as there is no one else in their region that can compete with either one of them when they are playing their best golf they are both just solid young golfers.

Also the fact that he can only hit the ball about 200 yards will hurt him on longer courses. He does fine on the short courses and he does have a great short game but the distance will kill him on longer courses.

Region 9 Golf Results (Boys)
True. So for the 2008 season I think Zach Wright from Grant is the best in the region but for last year absolutely Jeremy Martin.
