  1. So you mean that real football is only played on an artificial surface, inside a dome that's climate controlled? Let's hope that Arena football retains it niche, and the sport we love is still played outdoors in all weather conditions for many years to come! :thumb: It will be a sad day when it becomes a touch game played only in good weather conditions or indoors. I only hope our children can prevent that from happening, although I realize there is a lot of support from parents who believe their children will suffer injuries if the game, as played today, isn't changed to a non-contact sport! :irked:
  2. :thumb: And a heated debate, no less! But I don't see the KHSAA supporting any form of an A/AA playoff system anytime soon, so I imagine we'll have to continue with agreeing to disagree.
  3. Indeed! :thumb: Maybe more than a few would just as soon forget he ever played against them or their team.
  4. He was from Betsy Layne, stick. :thumb:
  5. Yeah, it kinda makes you wonder how the Wildcats might have done had the Head Coach not been distracted by all this! :thumb:
  6. Remember that prior to 5 years ago, AA had a couple teams that were much better than the rest. So without breaking the decade-15 yrs. in half, I believe AA would be the stronger class over the last decade-15 years. And the last 5 yrs., AA has given us some very exciting football as well, even though some of the earlier playoff games were more competitive.
  7. We'll have to hope it's because the "SV leadership" doesn't believe he'll make an effective head coach.
  8. It sounds like football and the the kids are not what's important to the "SV leadership" if what you say is true. :irked:
  9. :thumb: And I'd say the Red Devils' time of possession was what contributed the most to slowing down the Aces' passing attack.
  10. Yes, they are good posts, and very interesting. And I see no reason why anyone involved wouldn't want to support SV football, although we're somewhat familiar with not having board support. Apparently football, in general, is just not a popular sport for very many parents or students, and that's too bad for those who are willing to work at it!
  11. Well Done Russell! :thumb:
  12. Yeah, I hate it when somebody gets it before I get the chance to fix it! And sometimes I don't get it until it's too late to fix.
  13. That's pretty good accuracy since today's 11/21! :thumb:
  14. Every team seems to have the "rotten apples" among their fan base who always want to blame their team's loss on something other than what happened during the game, and "IF" something else happened things would have been different(or worse!). I think most of us who live here in the mountains are supporting the Pirates in their bid to 3-peat, since our team wasn't fortunate enough to be on that road that ends at Papa John's Stadium in just a few short days.
  15. I disagree with your pick since I think Belfry will win, but I do like your avatar. We made a visit last year for the Big Red Spring Scrimmage along with over 61,000 others! :thumb: Those Husker fans really love their football and I hope Callahan gets enough time to turn that program around.
  16. You mean the same thing that happened when we traveled to Breathitt Co. last year, when they were ranked by some as the #1 team in 2A? I believe that's wishful thinking for some, just as it was last year. :thumb:
  17. I's say that's a pretty accurate statement, onei! :thumb: Although your percentage reminds me of a song that I still remember.
  18. Congratulations Pirates, and good luck next week against Russell! :thumb:
  19. What's wrong with 292? Too narrow?
