What I think of when the big guy is dominating physical challenges.

I have had a hard time getting into this season. But part of that is the fact that Jenny was voted out early and I thought she had chance to go all the way. For finalists at this point its hard count out Drea with her 3 idols/advantages, Tori has proven challenges are her thing so far. Omar seems to have the game to get to the end. I would like to see Jonathan go long but he has to have a target on his back. Mike could go longer, if he keeps his idol and plays it at right time. But Drea gets to take an idol. Will she go after Mike's or Maryannes?

World #1 Scotty Scheffler wins easily. I thought the story of the day was Rory. He finishes 2nd by shooting 64. This was new final round record. The Masters.com leaderboard has a very cool feature if you want to go back and see each shot. You click on the player in the leaderboard and then click on the hole you want to watch for that player. They will show the video in well clipped segments shot by shot. Also they will show diagram of shots along side. I found this very cool.

Another update for hockey fans in Kentucky on this topic. Yesterday, Saturday April 9th, the ECHL pro team the Atlanta Gladiators picked up Paul and his Colgate co-captain, Josh McKechney. Last night in his professional debut, Paul scored his first professional goal. Interesting statistics here. All four mentioned above do at least have titles to go with the losses. What program has the most losses without ever winning the big dance?

Kansas - Took apart a good Miami team today. 'Nova will be short handed. Duke - Hard to win two in row when two powerhouses meet. This will be a battle every second from the opening tip. Duke wins another championship and sens K out on top. But this will also be battle. I know this scenario kills BBN fans but it could be worse. It could be Pitino.

Tshiebwe did not deserve this loss. He had good game and did everything he could. Double-double, 16 rebounds, three steals, 2 blocks. He was stout. Supporting cast - less so.

Not sure if the contestants can hear Jeff during the blindfolded challenges. But if they can, then he should be a bit more constrained. 3 barking voices is bad enough without him adding the 4th.

I think the winner will likely come from the female ranks. Two of the physical males already have targets on them and beach guy will too eventually. Jenny seems good. The question will be can she win some physical challenges. Drea has the tools but needs to chill a bit and get more low key. Tori also seems to have tools. But she came off as know-it-all it seems. Unanimous first out. That had to sting but was not surprising. I found Jackson's story and situation intriguing. It shows somewhat real reality. People have to deal with things and its no all fun as it sometimes looks like on these shows. CBS also let some mental health issues come out during the Amazing race as well. As long as the people on camera are OK with it it seems like a good trend.

Asked some team located in Kosice, Slovakia how things were today. They are located about 100 km from border with Ukraine. Bombing has been as close as 200 km. - Refugees have arrived in town. Most are staying a local school gymnasium. People are donating to support them. It sounded a lot like tornado victim support as they need basically everything. - I asked if they are concerned about humanitarian issues or expansion of war into their country. Answer - both. - Above triggered additional response that a brother lived in Luxembourg and that the people there were not focused at all on the war.

Being part of a negotiation team (or in the meetings at least) may not be good for ones health. Very odd circumstances around the death Denis Kireev. Are we sure on all these supposed atrocities? The Snake Island thing sounded interesting - till it was dis-proven. The Ukrainians were killing each other before this war and there are the para-military groups militarily run parts of the country. The Azov Battalion and Russian separatists (those wanting to join back with Russia in the east) have no love lost.

Obviously if these or a subset goes to Ukraine they are not coming back. What does Poland do to replace them? New F-16s? The arms merchants always make out it seems.

The issue/concern of a NATO-aligned Ukraine picked up speed after the fall of the Russia-friendly regime I think in 2014. There is a 2015 video of a speaker describing the likelihood of events in play now if Ukraine did not take on a neutral stance. The speaker said - this will become a disaster for the Ukrainian people. Some can see the future it appears. I have seen where some have indicated that the likely goal is to force the current regime to dissolve and replace it with a pro-Russia puppet. Russia does want buffer countries. NATO on their doorstep in a large country is a major issue to Russia.

That is one, if not the main, reason this war action is underway. The only way this ends is with a neutral Ukraine.

When I saw this topic I had to read it from start to finish. All the excellent comments show, it's a hot topic that will have lots of interest. This topic, in a general sense, is what led me to this forum many years ago. I will say that we have come a long way from when a superintendent in Southern Kentucky wanted kids to pick their school of choice as 7th graders and if they changed they would forfeit two years of sports if they did make a change. Some thoughts. 1. Let's start with the KHSAA point of view first. They have to expend resources for each "transfer" and make a ruling. Without know the metrics, I would guess 90+% are given the exemption. When they do rule that a student will be ineligible a firestorm likely ignites and even more resources are needed to get through that. The easier route is this one no-fault transfer. Less paperwork for the 90% and less angst on the challenges. For an organization that is looking how to best utilize a limited staff this action makes all sorts of sense. 2. Somewhat related - the new workplace normal. Parents are working from home more and more. Some may "go back to the office" but working from home is now part of the landscape and families will be more mobile than before 2020. So the amount of movement by families and students will be higher than in the past. Thus, nartural, valid "transfers" will also increase and this adds workload to KHSAA per above. My first cut is that is an appropriate step. Notice that I did not say good or bad step. But given the factors above and the current gamesmanship that goes on when families are "transferring" solely for sports this action would make sense. The current rules do not really inhibit motivated families from "transferring". There is always inertia that provides a lot of resistance to making a change. Its not an easy or light decision (or should not be). So when a family makes the jump they are going to do it. There are risks, issues, pitfalls and concerns for families, for schools, for school districts, for ADs, etc. These are all valid. But that is another post.

I actually felt for OBJ in the second half. Being in street clothes during a game like this is torture on high-level competitors. We felt he was gone right when the play happened. When the athlete grabs that knee after a no-contact cut its usually bad. He got the ring but could have been MVP if he plays second half.
