  1. Justin Haddix may have had the best stats of all time to have never won Mr. Football, and may have had better stats than some that did (4,300 yds. passing, 58 TD's-7 ints, 1,200 yds rushing 21 tds, and probably had 8-10 ints. as a safety on defense:eek: ). But pound for pound, Derek Smith was probably the best to not win it. He was an absolute beast on the football field. I remember seeing him at UK's passing camp one year and thinking he looked older than my dad. BTW, is he the only player to be runner up in Mr. Football and Mr. Basketball?
  2. Well that sucks, because Appy State is definetely worthy of being 1-A. I mean honestly think about, would they have beaten Michigan worse if it wasn't at the big house? What about if Appy State had those extra 22(?) scholarships that Michigan has? Michigan has just set their whole program back a decade IMO. What kid is going to want to play for the team that can't beat a 1-AA school? Michigan better pray they run the table the rest of the year, that is if their leaders don't give up on the season.
  3. I wouldn't be surprised to see Appy. State move up to D-1 very soon. Winning two 1-AA championships in a row and beating a top 5 1-A team at home is qualification enough for me. But what's funny about the whole thing is that I have friends STILL arguing that the Big 10 is better than the SEC, even after this horrible embarrasment.
  4. I am 22. I don't feel old but my joints do. I already have mild arthritis in my left ankle from a high school football injury. Anytime I am on my feet for a decent period of time, my left ankle swells up like a balloon. And now, when I work out, it takes about 3 days to overcome the soreness instead of a day. Also, the one thing that really upsets me, I used to be able to dunk a basketball no problem. Now, I can barely slap the backboard on a layup. Once again, I don't feel old, but these things are probably signs (that or I might just be out of shape, never thought about that lol).
  5. I guess I could list mine...... 10 Years Soil x 2 (not by choice, openers) Legion (another opener) Three Days Grace x 3 Staind Buckcherry Evanescence Fuel Breaking Benjamin x 2 Hinder Velvet Revolver Puddle of Mudd Papa Roach Black Stone Cherry Whitestar 2 cents ZZ Top Most of these were at the Rock on the Range concert in Columbus. Going to see Corey Smith in concert in September.
  6. I envy you like no other......Rage and Audioslave are two of my alltime favorite bands. Ben Harper and RHCP are probably my second two favorite musicians/bands.
  7. When will the actual line be released? The week before the game or when?
  8. Breathitt Co./Lawrence Co. Regional final in 1998. The Bobcats had their 42 game win streak snapped by Lawrence in the Region finals in '97 so they were out for revenge. Sometime into the game a heavy fog rolled in and you literally couldn't see the field. I also remember wearing shorts at the game because it was probably in the mid-60's temp. wise. It was a very strange game.
  9. ^If I'm not mistaken they are in WYMT's coverage area so a lot of people around here consider them a mountain team, probably like Topperdad was doing, even though they're probably not a mountain team at all.
  10. ^Yeah, and they beat both Miss. State and Umass (in the final four no less)......and check the stats on the link, UK had 30 double digit wins that season, more than the 92 Duke team. And who knows, if that guy for G-Town hadn't thrown the ball right to James Worthy then they might not have even won that game.
  11. What I want to know is if a team supposedely can't get any better than what they were the year before (See GT's arguement for UK), then how can UC's defense be so darn good? Have they just always been that good? Were they never bad? Did they always have a good D-coordinator? Did none of their players improve throughout their college careers or were they all just as good as they are now when they set foot into Nippert?
  12. http://news.com.com/8301-10784_3-9757841-7.html AT&T calls censorship of Pearl Jam lyrics a mistake Posted by Marguerite Reardon Apparently, saying disparaging things about President George Bush is enough to get you censored. At least that's what happened to the band Pearl Jam Sunday night during AT&T's Webcast of the Lollapalooza concert in Chicago. According to fans who watched the concert on AT&T's Blue Room Web site, portions of the song "Daughter," in which singer Eddie Vedder altered lyrics to include anti-Bush sentiments, were bleeped out. The lyrics came during a segue into Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in the Wall." The lyrics that were missing from the Web cast went like this: "George Bush, leave this world alone; George Bush find yourself another home." Pearl Jam was outraged. And the band railed against AT&T on its blog Wednesday for censoring the song. I'm not a very political person but knew this could be a hot topic on here. I also saw on MTV where they said that other bands such as the Flaming Lips did NOT have anti-Bush remarks censored. What do you think? Censorship or actual mistake? Remember, Eddie Vedder is very outspoken against Bush.
  13. Anybody still up? This is my first trip to the late nighters thread. Got all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed Friday and they're achin' right now so I can't sleep.
  14. My junior year, we played at Highlands in the Champions Bowl against Beechwood. There aren't many places with that type of atmosphere, with the fans being right on top of you, the school and everything else surrounding the stadium, and playing in August at 2:00 in the afternoon:scared: The Beechwood fans were quite the hosts as well, commenting on how glad they were to have us "country folk" up that way(or something like that) :sssh:
  15. Does Somerset scrimmage Breathitt Co. in Breathitt's Grid-O-Rama this coming Friday? That's what I have been hearing but haven't seen it confirmed anywhere. If so, I'd venture to guess Cole will have a field day because Breathitt has an, as of now, weak secondary. What kind of defense does Somerset have?
  16. ^Exactly what I was thinking......I'm sure he doesn't miss too much gametime.
  17. ^What would that consist of? Being banished to the Politics and Religion forum?:sssh:
  18. Well if it was a good game, a fire probably couldn't even get the UK fans out of RUPP
  19. He has been hugely successful at less than mediocre programs. Winning 20+ games at UTEP is hugely successful. Taking Texas A&M from the bottom of the Big 12 to the sweet sixteen in 3 seasons is hugely successful, IMO.
  20. That's pretty good considering the capacity is only 23,000, and that's according to ukathletics.com. I'd like to know how many other teams can claim they fit a thousand over capacity for a third of their games.
  21. Has everyone forgotten that he has only been a head coach for 5 years? It's not like you can take traditionally atrocious basketball programs to the final four when they had never previuosly sniffed the tournament. UTEP and Texas A&M were merely stopping points on a much grander scheme for BCG. Pitino didn't go to his first final four until his 7th season, and his second one came at one of the most tradition rich schools of all time. Tubbs was a head coach for, wait for it, 7 years before sniffing the final four and winning his NC. I guess what I'm saying is give the guy some time. like two more years until his 7th season :sssh:
  22. Where is Douglas from? Is he a Kentucky boy like Tamme, Burton, and Urratia or is he an adopted son?
