Congrats to Somerset. Congrats to Ryle, let's keep this NKY baseball thing going!!!!

Hey CoachG sounds like a great tourney for the BGK:jump:

Did (is) Somerset throw their ace tonight? (Wallen)

Anybody have any info on the game?

Who plays on this team? What HS?

Played a 14 yr old team from LA this past weekend, (Lou. Bulls) over in Cincy. One every good team. If they all go to the same HS... that is going to be one tough school to beat in the future. Do any of the NKY HS's pull together for a summer team?

Ryle, for the most part not properly ranked this season? NKY baseball is the brother of proper NKY political attention, it gets none (for lack of better grammer).

Where do all the "best" 14, 15 and 16 year old HS players play summer ball? What leagues and teams do they play in or for? Are there teams put together from the various high schools to play summer ball?

Dixie will be the team to beat in 2 years, it seem as though they are coming along nicely.

Congrats Luke Maile, stay focused, this is step in the road!!

Chill out fellas... This is a 15 year old boy. Have you ever seen a linebacker hit a receiver across the middle with a clean, but violent hit. Do you take his knees out the next play because he stood over the receiver after the hit and taunted him??? Have you ever seen one of the other POY candidates get a double with bases loaded in a close game, and then clap over his head once he gets to second celebrating a clutch hit. We don't throw at his ear-hole. Have you ever seen one of the Top volleyball players serve an ace or get a kill and the players celebrate a great play?? We don't wish lightning would strike her... What Luke did is show passion for the game. He showed what you see everyday in other sports. Interesting this remark about it being "classless" came from what I believe is a fan of the team he hit it off of. If there is anything classless, it is making an insinuation that flipping a bat after hitting a home run is worse than intentionally trying in injure a player by throwing at his head. Throwing at him is the only classless thing about your post.... Think about it.... Simply put... Act like you have been there before. If this action is acceptable on the diamond, then let's see some "Icky shuffles" on Friday night... Where is Icky anyway... get the hint!? Stay focused young man!!!!

"Act like you've been there before." You will get a lot more respect that way, especially when POY is at hand.

That is correct, I was frosh talking. IMO, there were a couple of 8th graders for Dixie that could have blended in nicely against a lot on NKY varsity teams.

TheGreatGame said "As I stated earlier Cov Cath will be the favorite next year. Correct me if I am wrong but I believe Beechwood was even younger this year than Ryle will be next season (Ryle will have 6 returning Juniors from this years team and almost a dozen talented kids from this years JV Championship team (with legitimate pitching). The way things are shaping up Cov Cath and Ryle could both be State contenders in two years if their stellar sophmores keep getting better as they mature? I understand that BHS started 2-8th graders in the CCH game and only have 1senior on the roster. To round out the bench hey brought up 4 frosh and another 8th grader. Also heard BHS was in the frosh finals playing a number of 7th and 8th graders. Another young and talented frosh class is at Dixie, they also start about 4 - 8th graders. The Cov Cath and Ryle teams will have numbers (what will Ryle give up to the new Boone county school?), but IMO there is going to be some very good baseball (if the kids stick with it) in a couple of years.

Follow the action at http://www.leaguetime.com With all the talent the BG Knights have this year, they will win when they want to.

I'm doing pretty good... Give me BHS in the final, defending the title. Next level; In two years (varsity, watch out for Dixie and BHS (of course CCH will be be in there) for the NKY champs. Good luck to all!! ;

The schools are in it to win the varsity games, and in order to win the varsity games they take every chance to get the best and most promising kids ready, both physically and mentally, to play and experience the thrill of a high pressure game, which includes the frosh and JV tourneys. Any "JV player" that is a frosh gets more experience and thrill out of playing in the frosh tourney than a routine JV game... ask any kid. JV and frosh do not get ink in the papers, the name of the game is to get your kids prepared mentally and phisically for varsity play.

IMO: for Northern Ky 12's Kentucky Krush, but Ky Kids are a very close second.. for now. 13's N Ky Legends - watchout Kanes 14's Bluegrass Knights 15's your pic: N Ky Dodgers, Bluegrass Grizz and the Kings

7th inning started with BHS up 7 to 5 over Conner, along with a couple of errors, the Beechies ran out of pitching. Congrats to Conner.

Another nice job "chuckwagon"!!:thumb:

6'3" seems like a lot of size to be able to drop and block the ball and be quick from knees to toes. It also seems like there are a lot of "fire hydrant" looking catchers out there. IMO it would seem logical that a defensive back type body style would work well in that position...

Actually both teams. But from what I have heard and read in above posts, I thought that the breds were not that good from what other people said (people that have seen them play more than 1 or 2 times). So, I figured that they, as well as BHS, brought all thier tools to work today.

The Beechies beat NewCath tonight and face the winner or Scott and St. Henry. Not sure of the score (I think 7 to 4), it was a one run game through 5 innings. From reading the above posts it looks like both small schools brought down thier JV and Varsity players (8th and 9th graders) to play???

I think Farris (Beuller) just as in the movie, is going to play what ever position he wants to play and at what ever time. I envy the kid.... what a skill set. Can you put any other kid at C, IF and OF?. Honestly, I don't know the kid, but Freel #6 comes to mind.

OK, so what's your point? Is cussing OK? It's OK to cuss as an adult?
