Where do all the "best" 14, 15 and 16 year old HS players play summer ball? What leagues and teams do they play in or for? Are there teams put together from the various high schools to play summer ball?

Most kids that age around here (Western KY) play Jr. Legion and some play up on Sr. Legion

Most here in the 16th Region, play for Post 76, Jr. and Sr. Legion teams. They also, have a few players from Ohio and 2 from Johnson Central.

Around NKY and the Greater Cincinnati area, certainly the premier league is Southwest Ohio (SWOL), or what everyone (mistakenly) calls "AABC," and within this league the National League division has the top teams. You can find good teams in the other divisions (American and Continental), but it takes a very solid team to be able to win consistently at the NL level. NL teams tend to play in more and stronger tournaments and will travel at the end of the year to a world series. You cannot try to get by with 2 or 3 decent pitchers at this level and be successful. I am not aware of any high school teams in NKY that stay together as a team for summer ball, though frankly I think it would be a good idea to help build and strengthen that team for the following high school season.

I don't know what part of the State you're from, but here in LA (Louisville Area) most of the JV and Varsity high school players stay together and play a mixed schedule of AAU, USSSA, USTOC, Sandlot and Knothole league, travel and tournament play.

Played a 14 yr old team from LA this past weekend, (Lou. Bulls) over in Cincy. One every good team. If they all go to the same HS... that is going to be one tough school to beat in the future.

Do any of the NKY HS's pull together for a summer team?

I would like to see Cov Cath and Ryle JV teams stay together for the Summer. I believe both of those teams could fair very well against All Star

Teams in their age group. It is a great idea to do that!
