He is on the team. Plays JV with very little varsity action

5 games in the 50's this year. Closest game was the 9 point overtime victory over Covington Catholic. Next closest was a 19 point victory over Holy Cross. Two games in the 40's, a 6 point win over Trinity and the 5 point lose to Male. It seems to me that making good teams work for their shots is going to keep the score low because you won't have an up and down the court game. For tonight, outstanding defense prevailed over high-scoring defense.

I don't know the details of why it went to Holmes, but I agree that C is after B and before H.

No problem, Turbo. When I got home, I was surprised no one had posted it yet.

It was 31-14 at the half. I don't believe it ever got below 10 in the 2nd half.

Without the focus issues, they could be 23-0 instead of 22-1. "In Coach Henley We Trust", he'll get them ready to go.

The district is at Holmes and Holmes is hosting. KHSAA website lists Beechwood as hosting, and they had planned on doing so up to the deadline for filing the necessary paperwork. Beechwood decided against it and Holmes was next in line.

The first game of the year, Holmes got a technical foul for dunking after the fifteen minute mark. Since then it seems Coach Henley has tamed the Dogs a bit. Yes they dunk, but there is no grabbing the rim.

They were working hard in a very fast paced game. The game deserved a 3 man crew.

The make up call was the most obvious and cheapest make up call I have ever seen. You don't do a make up call on a player like Henderson.

Covington Catholic in 2003-04 was 16-0 in the region according to the Riherd's scoreboard

This year Coach U was at Holmes as the Defensive Coordinator

From what I saw of the game (live) and talking to people that have seen the game, there were two times that CovCath was playing zone. Both times Holmes threw over the top to the basket. One time was to Hill for a quick layup and the other time was when Rice tried to dunk and ended up just laying the ball on the rim. That night I didn't recognize they were changing to zone, but coaches I have talked to since have said it. I'm not offering this as gospel, but what I have been told by people that know the game and the teams.

So are you starting your own basketball state championships to compete with the Sweet 16? I love the Atari games, I can actually beat my son when we play and get trounced when he breaks out the Gamecube. Take out the post from Highlands football fans and we can call it even.

It appears you have a point of view that is shared by few people across the state. It seems you don't place basketball, high school basketball especially, on a pedastal the way most people across the state do. Having attended both the football championships and the Sweet 16 for a number of years, there are far more people that attend the Sweet 16 year after year no matter who is playing. Travel across the state and go into a McDonalds and you will find someone to talk basketball with, but good luck finding someone to talk about high school track, soccer, softball, or football for that matter.

How about the best of both worlds? Have a class tourney during the season and keep the Sweet 16 at the end of the year. Every school would have the opportunity to compete in both. Would you make the class tourney a requirement for all teams or optional? KHSAA would have to sanction the class tourneys to give it any credence.
