Holmes vs. Boone Co.

Will Holmes be able to get up for this game after such a struggle against Highlands?

Yes, Holmes by 10 (No OT for this game)

Boone is good but hasn't met a team with Holmes athleticism. Holmes press will furstrate Boone all night and Krohman will find points hard to come by with Henderson guarding him.

Only was for Boone to stay in the game is if they can hit all night from outside like they did against CCH.

Holmes by 10 + being at home.

Highlands did the Bulldogs a favor by challenging them to play an entire ballgame without any lapses in intensity. If they had lapsed they would've lost. Holmes traditionally likes to come out smoking and get a comfortable lead so they can lay down and coast on home. The Highlands game grew the Bulldogs up in leaps and bounds, and if they can continue with that intensity for the whole game, they win by 15. If they go back to having lapses and let the Rebels hang around, I still think the Dogs win, but by no more than 5. I like the Dogs this year more than ever because they play as a TEAM. They take all the learning they can get between now and tournament time and I say the Region is theirs and there shouldn't be any reason they couldn't compete with the best in the state. Every team needs to realize that they can lay down when they go home to go to bed, but while there's 32 minutes of clock to play, then play all 32 minutes of them. Then you know that you did all that you could do and it highly increases your chances of winning. That might be a bit too much for a prediction thread, but what do you do when there's a lot on the mind and the fingers won't stop?

Great post! Lately, Holmes' has had a plethora of talent but would implode with "issues". They seem to have the right chemistry this year. They do have a focus issue at times when they get a lead they revert to the playground style and a "look at what I can do" mentality. If they stay hungry and focused, they could be showing off in Lexington. Boone has them at the right time for an upset as they've got to be "full of themselves" after the big victory over HHS. Once again, IF focused....it's a long night for Boone...if not, then lookout!

I doubt very seriously Holmes will come in to this game "full of themselves" after Highlands gave them all they wanted and they saw what that can do to them. Also, this is a #1 vs #2 match up. Don't think for one second Holmes is looking past the Rebels. Holmes will come in to this game focused and take it up another level against one of the top teams in nky. With that being said, the same team we saw in the second half of the Highlands game shows up again and Boone find themselves down big.

Once again the only way Boone stays in this game is if they have an EXTREMELY good night from behind the arc. Defensively they don't match up well with Holmes and offensively Holmes full court man to man defense is going to do a number.

Without the focus issues, they could be 23-0 instead of 22-1. "In Coach Henley We Trust", he'll get them ready to go.
