Holmes should probably be favored by 6 or 7, but make no mistake that Boone is capable of winning this game if they play well. I think it will depend somewhat on how the refs call the game. If lots of hand checking and bumping is allowed, Boone could have trouble. Otherwise, their guards are plenty quick and smart enough and handle the ball well.

 

I would still take my chances and sit in a zone some and make Holmes beat me from outside. I know they may be able to hit a few more threes from last year, but they can be cold at times too. Boone has to box out.

 

What I am "hearing" most people on this board say is that Boone doesn't have a chance and that Cov Cath and Highlands are better teams. Highlands beat Boone by 6 in a close one that could have gone either way, and Boone routed Cov Cath (even though they were missing Bondick). Both of those teams took Holmes to OT. So, I definitely think it is possible for Boone to hang in this game. Boone hasn't been beaten by more than 8 by anyone this year, so I will be surprised by a blowout. Boone also has a lot of talent.

Boone is still a year away. I'll take Holmes by 10. Playing Highlands tough is nice, and pounding Cov. Cath is great, but Boone has not played a team like Holmes yet. Boone Co. can gain a lot of confidence towards the region if they can hang until the end with Holmes. In the region, anything can happen.

Never once will you see a Holmes guard walk the ball or jog the ball up the floor. They force teams to play at their tempo which is why their opponents are wore out by the 4th quarter. Seriously, give me a break. If you think Boone is more athletic than Holmes, you obviously haven't seen them play. They wear the teams down that they play and put them away in the fourth quarter. Boone hasn't played anybody yet. They'll find out tonight what a top team looks like.

:lol: There's no hard feeling between myself and wildcatfan. I actually have no dog in this fight. But having seen both teams and multiple times, Holmes is the better team.
