In comparrison to other 1st round games in the past few years, I thought the crowd was typical. As far as crowd size for teams, East and Bath brought sizable crowds. Ashland's crowd I thought was smaller than usual and Raceland never has a lot of fans, also due to it being a smaller school No one will be able to complain about the crowd size tonight, especially on the Elliott side

Who officiated the game? And who called the T on Biggs?

This game will mean a lot more to Rose Hill than it will to Boyd Co. Boyd Co. has the 4th seed locked up, and with one win for Rose Hill against BC, Fairview, or Ashland, they will clinch the 1 seed. So more than likely a preview of first round district game. Dont expect to see many new wrinkles from either team, especially Boyd Co. Anything that they think would be effective against Rose Hill will probably be saved for the last week of February. Rose Hill may suffer from post All-a hangover. Game has all the makings of a sloppy, low scoring game.

With a West Carter 56-52 victory tonight over Morgan Co., the seeding has been set for the district tournament 1 Elliott Co. vs 4 Morgan Co. 2 East Carter vs. 3 West Carter 2 rivalry opening round games, should make for a great tournament

There have been rumors floating around, and I stress the word rumor, that the 62nd district may be moved to accomodate the expected large crowds

In terms of rivalry, this game has always been more important to Elliott Co. than it has to East Carter until recently. Elliott Co. has always viewed this game as the biggest game in their season. West Carter and Boyd Co. have always been much bigger games to East Carter however.

That must say a lot about the quality of the opponents that West has beaten this year then. Morgan has a solid team, dont get me wrong, but to classify that as a signature win does not prove much for the Comets

The reason for the basket counting was that the call made was a simultaneous block/charge call. Kouns called a block from the baseline while Coldiron had a charge from the opposite side of the floor. The appeal is actually has an effect on the entire play. With TWO outs less than two strikes, the the catcher would appeal and umpire says itwas a swing, then the inning would end with the runner being called out and the batter still due up the next inning. However, if ruled a ball, the the batter is awarded first base and the runner going to second is called out, a new batter would be up to start the inning. Therefore, the appeal would determine who would be up to bat to start the next inning.
