Who should he play in front of?

Very, very nice, versatile player. Looking forward to seeing him everyday this summer. He came highly recommended from Mrs. Allen.

Connor hits 2nd in the line up and Isler hits after Maile and Darner which sets him up pretty good. Supporting cast is a major factor! :thumb:

Agree accept the pitching, he's never been a "dominant" pitcher he just knows how to pitch and is extremely intelligent. His overall game is deserving of the POY award simply because he excells at all facets of the game.

How about Jeramie Connor from NCC 6-1 with 2 shut outs and hitting at 500 hands down the best 2nd baseman as mentioned by ESPN rise magazine.

I just spoke to Jeramie Connor's father and he agreed that AJ threw the ball very well in this game. I didn't see a thread on the NCC/Lloyd game from earlier in the day, but I understand NCC won 2-0.

Yes, a couple of weeks ago, I think he missed it. Should help the team a lot.

As fast as Lokesak is, there is a good chance he would have made it to 3rd, but it didn't look to me like Dunaway would have attempted to go to 2nd, the outfielder got to the ball pretty quick. I would definitely have given Lokesak 3rd, but left Dunaway at 1st. By the way it appeared unintentional, even though that doesn't matter.

Patrick Johnson from Pendleton Co. is a very talented kid with a tremendous family. He has also signed with the University of the Cumberlands to play baseball next year.

Connor's defense was great, but can anybody explain why in the last two minutes, he was taken out on defense and brought back in on offense. While he was out, the kid he was guarding scored a couple of times to keep the game close. Why not just leave him in on both offense and defense. He was getting the job done, I just didn't understand.

Ok, to say he was clocked at 87-88 is not to say every single pitch he throws is that fast. I can assure you that he can reach that level and is consistently 80 plus. So many people want to argue that a kid doesn't throw that hard for whatever reason. Just remember, it could have only been 1 or 2 pitches that reached that level. But in high school ball, most really good pitchers are 75-78 mph, but know how to set up a good off speed pitch. A prime example is Jeramie Connor of NCC, believe it or not at last summers Ky. Kings camp I held the radar gun when he hit 82 mph 2-3 times and was consistently 77-80, but with his offspeed stuff and side arm delivery, he appears a lot quicker. I had a lot of people say that he doesn't throw that hard, but I held the gun.

Ok, jokes over. I just spoke to Matt Coffman's father and Bobby and Matt have both been at workouts with the baseball team and will both be playing this season. And Bobby's arm is doing very well and he should be throwing very well by the start of the season, not to mentioned Matt was clocked recently at Mt. St. Joes camp at 87-88 mph.

I know Estes and Coffman are probably 2 of the pitchers, who is the other? Also, who is their catcher and #2 hitter, who else would comprise their starting lineup?

It was nice to see Jeramie Connor snap out of his slump and have a couple of very nice games at the Lexington Catholic tournament. This fine young man has had a rough time lately. His mother has been ill for quite some time and just underwent a risky surgery last week. His mind has also been occupied with working toward a possible college choice at Navy. With his mind being preoccupied with these major things, his life has been upside down and his game has suffered. His mothers surgery went very well and she has been moved into a regular room after spending 6 days in ICU, her weight and overall health are starting to improve. After hearing that his mom's surgery went well, Jeramie went out and had back to back games of 30 and 19 points and made the all-tourney team. So, lets all pray for the continued improvement for his mother and now that he can relax, maybe he can play the way he is capable and show that he is one of the top shooters, not to mention probably the top returning baseball pitcher in the area. Good luck to the entire Connor family.

What other pitchers do they have besides Sainola? Rizzo threw a little for us in our fall league, not overpowering but threw strikes. I also heard they would maybe have some guys come back out who had not been playing because of the spring break rules. Liggett is very solid behind the plate.

Joe Renda is a tremendous kid with a super set of parents. You are correct, his stuff is very, very good. What he needs is confidence, if his control comes around, he along with Etscheid will give Ryle a huge 1-2 punch. Hopefully Coach Roesel can help him with the confidence and make this happen. If they can settle on who the outfielders will be, they will be pretty good defensively. I think he will probably end up putting a couple of infielders in the outfield, due to a glut of infielders. Hopefully, they will hit enough to overcome the question marks.

Remember the name of the thread says, "The Best At Each Position in NKY", and that would be individual best, regardless of which team they play for. On the other hand, I do agree with Coop, with these 4 kids plus some of the other kids they have back and coming up, they should be the favorite. But that would be another thread.

First of all, are you seriously saying that any of these 4 CCH players do not belong. Aside from A.J. Smith, which other Beechie would you add. The Slusher and Larrimore kids are good players but I don't think I would put them in front of the other guys. Who from St. Henry would you add. And even though my son graduated from CCH, I don't have ties to those 4 kids, but anyone who has seen them play would agree that they are 4 of the best kids in NKY.

I did mean "Best at Each Position in NKY", sorry for the confusion. Maybe a moderator can add that. Also, didn't mean to start any tension for anyone, but it seems to be hard to have fun on this site without someone getting riled up. Also, did not mean to overlook Mr. Pugh from Conner, super bat, could be my DH and I do really like AJ Smith from Beechwood, I have nothing against Beechwood, good friends with a lot of people there. If you look at my picks, there are a lot of different schools mentioned.
