Well said Rambler! You are not reading these posts wrong, because there is no mistaking their meaning. Just someone taking shots at Rose Hill's acomplishments during the tourney. And it's a real shame. Every team that made the All A had to play their way there and they are all quality teams. Just because there's been a lot of low scoring games doesn't equal bad teams, it's just a reflection of playing style for these games (and sometimes some off shooting nights, which happens to everyone). Most of these teams haven't played each other before so there's a feeling out process of what each team will do, their style, etc. Keep it up Rose Hill. If you have to defeat four 'bad' teams to win the tournement that will be fine with the rest of us. We're just proud of what you're doing.

Great game Royals! On to the final four. What a great showing for the 16th. I know most everyone back here at home, no matter their home team, are pulling for you to win it all! I love it when the local teams do well against the state. Just shows our caliber of basketball in the 16th.

You mean like having to play Elliott Co and Bath Co just to get in to the tourney? Yeah, that's real weak. Guess it's a good thing they didn't have to play Pineville.

At least it isn't as bad as the Owensboro Cath. game. They had 8 pts total at halftime! That would have been nice to watch. There's been lots of low scores so far in the tourney. Rose Hill just needs to survive and move on. Doesn't have to be pretty.

Collegiate really took care of the ball. Only 3 turnvovers for the whole game. That's an amazing stat. And Euton only took 5 shots in the game. Rose Hill outrebounded them by a lot and blocked a lot of shots. Rose Hill shot 45% for the game even though they only scored 40. Just not a lot of shots taken during the game.

I'm sorry LRCW. I meant Raceland is the easy pick for me at their place. I'd say in the 8-12 pt range. Not a blowout. The Tomcats have just played awful in a lot of their road games this year.

Boyd is rolling! And if they keep young Mr. Selbee out of foul trouble then it could be a tight game. My heart wants to pick the lions in an upset, but my head tells me the Raiders by 3. (But I love watching Selbee play; he's very smart and agile for a big man!)

Where's the game? If the game's at Raceland then it's the Rams easy. IF it's at Ashland then you never know. The Tomcats do a lot better at home.

I'm just not understanding most of these rankings (at least at the top). You're saying how great Elliott, East and Bath are in one sentence (and I agree that those teams are very, very good), and then Rose Hill defeats not one but TWO of them in less than a week's time, and they're not in the top spot now? I'm sorry but you have to get over the disdain for Rose Hill and give them credit for what they just did. I see the Rose Hill posters give credit to these other teams when they win, and they should expect a little love back when they do something great. I do believe that Elliott, Rose Hill, East Carter and Bath are very good teams this year and anyone of them could win the region. I don't even remember the last time the region had four teams at one time close to this level. And it's making for fun and exciting basketball. I respect the heck out of Ellt, EC and Bath, but at the same time you got to respect Rose Hill too. They're not close to the team they were earlier in the year when Bath beat them and they lost several games. They've improved mightily with the schedule they played, and are now at the level of the other elite teams in the region. At the worst they should be 1a and 1b with elliott, and then East and Bath are 2a and 2b. And I agree with what one poster said; how great it is to have all the little schools be this good? I do love it.

How bout it? Can Ashland give East a good game down there? I think EC will win going away in the second half, in the 15-20 range. But I think Ashland may keep it close for a while in the first half.

I'll take West in an upset in this one by 3. Should be a close game reguardless.

Fairview shoud cruise in this one. Lets say 15.

Classy post here. Really adds to the thread about a great game last night. Some 16th region fans shouldn't live in glass houses. Anyway, that Clemmons kid from Bath had a spectacluar game last night. He scored a bunch and hit some big shots down the stretch, and didn't miss anything in the first half. A very impressive performance indeed. It helped Rose Hill a lot when they were finally able to put Jackson on him in the overtime to keep him from shooting (as much). They couldn't do it earlier to protect Jackson from picking up any cheap fouls. Good coaching by Mr. Fraley. If you missed the game folks it was certainly a classic. Big plays made by both teams down the stetch with Clemmons sending it into OT with a clutch shot with only seconds left. And then the OT was nip and tuck til the end. What a game! To answer someone's question about who was all tourney, I can't remember everyone but Rose Hill had Arthur, Barber, Euton and Jackson, while Bath had Clemmons, Metz and Mabry. I remember Collins from Fairview and an Elliott Co player (Ferguson I believe).

Congrats to Rose Hill. Heck of a comeback to be All-A region champs!

That's a pretty harsh sentiment against one of your own. Ashland already struggles to have any inside game and rebounds poorly, so how is losing this guy going to help them in the areas they already struggle in?

How's the seating at Bath? No danger of not getting a seat for this one is there?

Let's have em. I like the Royals in a little revenge matchup from the earlier game. They're playing 100% better than they were when they played them earlier in the year. Bath is very physical and it will be a good game, but i think the Royals win by about 7.

Rose Hill just shook up the world (at least the 16th region world). I thought they were better equipped than the rest of the 16th to fight with Elliott due to a terribly strong schedule. The thing with Rose Hill is since the Bath game their bench players have really come on strong. I really think the 16th regional will be a three team race; Rose Hill, Elliott and East can win it all, while teams like Bath, Raceland, Fairview and West could pull an upset. As great as Elliott Co. is, Rose Hill has shown they are right there. Man, does this make the rest of the year exciting! Congrats Rose Hill!

Is Rose Hill athletic enough to play with Elliott Co? Will Euton and Jackson cause matchup problems? This will be a tough one for the young Royals, as it is for everyone. If The Hill's guards can keep Elliott from a lot of free fast break buckets, then maybe it won't get out of hand as badly as most. I'll say Elliott by 15-20.

When's the last time there's been such a complete team of shooters like the this juggernaut that Elliott has this year. Anyone remember one?

Great post. That's what's amazing about this Elliott county team. So many players are weapons, you just can't stop the machine. You have to be incredible on defense to slow them down, and that's going to take some special athletes to do.
