Metz is a junior and Maze is only a soph. Hopefully the success that Bath has had this year can be sustained over the next few years. They will really miss Clemmons though.

You're right. I actually think Montgomery could beat Mason if they played again. As we found out tonight, it's hard to beat a team 3 times. :sssh:

After Montgomery lost to GRC, it could come a lot earlier than most people thought.

First round games Wed. & Thurs. @ 5:00 & 8:30 Semis Sat. @ noon & 3:30 Finals Sun. @ 3:00 Let's discuss some potential matchups....and please, let's not turn this into another debate over where the tournament is being played.

Bath actually won the 10th region tournament in 1977, beating Maysville HS in the finals.

I don't doubt that there would be interest, but I just don't see it being feasible from a scheduling standpoint. You can't push the Sweet 16s back becasue there is no way the spring sports can start any later than they already do.

Not feasible from a scheduling standpoint. You couldn't start the girls on the 8th as most regions have the girls finals that night. Likewise, you couldn't start the boys on the 15th as that would be the night of the girls' state championship. No way the KHSAA would allow that. Also, you'd have some boys regional semis and finals going on the same time as this alternate girls state tournament. If a school had a girls team in this alternate tournament and a boys team playing in a regional semi or final, where do you think the fans are going to go? I'm not sure many coaches or players would be too motivated to play in such an event anyway after losing in a regional championship game.

Without question, for me it's the '95 regional final between Montgomery and Mason. Double overtime, Billy Ray Fawns, Shawn Myrick....a classic.

Draw with district winners playing runner-ups. Also, teams from same district are in opposite brackets.

I think those four have clearly separated themselves from the rest of the state.......with Holmes being a possible exception.

Too bad Lex. Cath, BS, and Scott Co. are all in the same region. How much fun would a Sat. morning semis be with those three and Mason?

First of all I don't see the dunk being that big of a deal. That being said, if you think the dunk was classless, couldn't you also argue that it was gutless for Mason to allow it to happen....on their own floor? If the winning team isn't content to run out the clock and wants to try to score when the game is out of hand, you give him a good hard foul when he goes in for the dunk, and it might not happen next time.
