I totally disagree with this. I was at that game, and while it was a very good crowd, it was not a packed house where people had to be turned away. My guess is that same crowd could have fit in Montgomery's gym. There is a huge misconception about how many people are actually in the Fieldhouse on the night or afternoon of a regional final. With a few exceptions, such as the Pendleton/Montgomery final a few years ago, most every crowd that has attended sessions at Mason Co. could have been accomodated at Montgomery Co. If you don't believe me, ask your school's AD or administrator to see the 10th region expense report that gets sent to every participating school. It will have a breakdown of attendance of every session of the tournament. You will find very few sessions over the past several years that exceed Montgomery Co.'s capacity.

Then your "extremely reliable source" thinks the Fieldhouse can hold 6,500-7,000 people? I'd find another "extremely reliable source" if I were you.

It would have handled the crowd that was at the GRC/Mason final last year, as well as most of the finals crowds in recent years. It would not have handled the Pendleton/Montgomery crowd from a few years back, but then again, neither did the Fieldhouse.

I can't say this is long overdue because until now, there wasn't another facility in the region capable of hosting the tournament. But now, with Montgomery's new facility, it certainly should be rotated, and I am glad to see that it is going to happen. :ylsuper:

While I think all teams try to get a feel early on as to how the game is going to be officiated, I don't think they "waste" early fouls for this purpose. I wouldn't think any coach would want a starter or key player (which is who would be in the game early on) to waste a foul that could lead to foul trouble later in the game. It has long been my observation that Bluegrass (10th & 11th region) officials seem to allow more physical play than other regions.

I didn't say anything about winning a regional championship. He has never even won a game in a regional tournament! You can't be considered a top coach when you coach at the largest school in the region and have never even won a regional tournament game. Good coach, decent coach, above average coach....maybe. But does not deserve to be mentioned on a "Best coach in the 10th region" thread.

I'm going to take Bath Co. in a close game.

That's about what I was thinking. Somebody will get a good one with him....seems to be a great kid also.

Montgomery has several....Clark, Stephens, Stull, K.Curtis, Gibbons. There may be others, but these are the ones that come to mind.

What kind of schools do you think Josh Clark could go to? Anybody know who is recruiting him or where he might be going? I really love the way he plays. If he was a little taller, he would be an absolute beast.

Brandon Rash never gets enough credit for his defense. IMO, he is one of the best defenders in the region. He has done a very good job on some very good players over the last two years. :thumb:

I think this game played out very well for Montgomery Co. I'm sure they would have liked to get the win, but they proved that they are capable of hanging with the Royals. And let's be honest, nobody in the region is going to beat Mason Co. twice this year. If you're going to get them, save it for the region and not in some meaningless, mid-season tournament. The perfect scenario for the Tribe would be to play them tough again in February and then try to knock them off at home in the regional tournament. A lot of people will say that Mason didn't play their best, and that Miller could've had 40 "if he wanted", yada, yada, yada. But Montgomery didn't play their best either, they missed a ton of FT's.
