I hadn't read that. I was told, by someone from Mason Co. coincidentally, that there were approximately 3000 paid and 500 passes. If 4004 is correct, then I stand corrected.

No, rarely have they had to turn people away. Most all of the crowds that they have had at the Fieldhouse could have been accomodated at Montgomery Co. Last year's final between Mason & GRC had a crowd of around 3500 including passes, which is less than Montgomery's capacity.

Jealousy and spite alive in the 10th region? I can't argue with that....seems like everyone in the 10th region outside of Mt. Sterling and Winchester are jealous of Montgomery County for getting to host this year. :sssh:

Not true. While there is an assigning secretary over the officials that determine their game assignments, every coach has the ability to scratch an official that he may have a problem with. This keeps the scratched offical from working any of that team's games for the entire season. Obviously there is a limit as to how many a coach can scratch, I'm not sure of the number. If Mason County's coach thought that there was an official that hated Darius Miller as another poster stated earlier, I'm sure that he would be the first name on the scratch list.

Don't think anyone can say that. They're not beating Mason Co. or Lex. Cath. but they have a very solid schedule for a school their size. They have wins at Rose Hill and at Rowan Co. (who just beat GRC) and two of their losses were to Elliott Co. and Hazard.....no shame in that. They have also beaten a couple of out of state teams in Rose Hill's tourney. Their last two wins are against Bourbon Co. and Russell who are down this year, but that's not Bath's fault. Congrats Bath Co......keep it up! :thumb:

Agree, that was a pretty good crew too, but they missed some big ones late.

Miller was very quiet until late, then he absolutely took over. Great game and good win for the Royals.....congrats :thumb:

Safe to say that Station is the hottest team in the state...impressive win.

How awesome would a Scott Co. vs. Bryan Station / Lex. Cath vs. Mason Co. doubleheader on WKYT have been? Two great games tonight!

Real mature post. For your information, they wanted to build it bigger but the State of KY Dept. of Education wouldn't approve it. Something about having a half billion dollar state deficit and feeling like it would be a waste taxpayers' $$ to build a gym that would only be full once every four year, if that.

Then you'll be happy in March 2009.....for March 2008 guess you'll just have to get there early.

Anybody that says playing on your home court is not an advantage is living in la la land. It does not guarantee you victory, but it does give you an advantage. Just because GRC won last year doesn't mean Mason didn't have a home court advantage. GRC simply outplayed them and was able to OVERCOME the home court advantage. Who's to say that if that game were played at GRC they might have won by double digits. Anybody in their right mind would prefer to play at home in their own gym.

Wrong again. I know people in at least four other regions who have been saying for years how unfair it is that Mason Co. gets to play the regional tournament on their home floor EVERY year.
