I think this game is to be televised by WSAZ either on Channel 3 or MYZ. I'm not sure about the internet radio or webcast.

The Royals were not pressed in this one. I agree they need to rebound much better against Boyd County. They also need to cut down on the turnovers if they plan to win at Boyd County tonight. Michael Fuller and Dakota Euton shot very well from three point range. I noticed the Boyd Co. coach was at the game.

O.J. will really be needed and missed in this upcoming Scott Co. game. I'd say a good chance Scott Co. might pull it off again. I agree Scott Co. has more bench strength.

This was a nice win for Rose Hill. LCA made several nice comebacks from 15 point deficits and almost pulled it out. Rose Hill played well in spurts. They need to pass the ball better and cut down on their turnovers. If they do so, I think they can compete well at tournament time.

I have known O.J. for some time. Like so many highly talented kids (and Yes a person of 18 or even 19 is a Kid, whether he's holding a basketball or a rifle in Iraq) there is some bad in O.J. but I can assure you there is much more of the good in this young man. He has been in a unique position of being in the spot light with his name in banner Sports headlines, on T.V., ESPN, USA Today and the whole bit ever since the seventh grade. In the 7th and 8th grade at Rose Hill, he showed maturity well beyond his years. The HATRED and JEALOUSY abounded on a nightly basis against this kid. Adult and teenage fans would ridicule and ride him unmercifully. Older, stronger players were jealous of his skills and often tried to hurt him or "take him out" in the hopes of winning. The attitudes and actions of jealous and angry fans and players who hated him were relentless. Their actions were far worse than anything O.J. did on or off the court. For the most part he took it much better than 95% would have done. As a 7th & 8th grader he was very competitive and never backed down to older, stronger competition. As O.J. became stronger and improved, and as the abuse continued, he did occasionally retaliate and/or stand his ground as he did in Charleston in the game against Capital High. It's true he did not handle the situation well in Charleston that night. He's already said he has learned from his mistakes and would have handled things differently in hindsight. I would challenge anyone who has undergone the daily emotional stress of being in the regional and national public spotlight since such an early age to have handled it much better than O.J. You can just go back and read the old posts of how unfairly he was portrayed here on Bluegrass Preps in previous years and it will be crystal clear. He not only does a credible job of maintaining control on the court, but handles the media and fan hype quite well, and does a good job with the taunters and haters who are out there working on him in public places off the court as well.

There were not many tougher than O.J. Mayo. He never backed down from a challenge, even as a 7th and 8th grader up against much stronger Senior players. He was also as tough as they come mentally. He took as much mental and emotional abuse from jealous players and fans as anyone his age ever endured.

A big time accomplishment for Ms. Terry! Looking forward to her playing for the Louisville Lady Cardinals next season. It was nice that the Rose Hill bench got a good deal of game experience tonight.

I watched this game on T.V. and have a couple of observations. It was a great win for Scott Co. They played hard, clearly had the superior coach, and HHS seemed lethargic and unenergized. Maybe the incidents (and aftermath) of the game with Capital had a detrimental effect on their play ? This game (HHS vs. Scott Co.) was very well refereed and they were consistent and fair. Also, as I watched the HHS coach, he did seem totally bored, uninterested, and never tried to call any time outs or make any changes. I have noticed in several games this year O.J. seems to get a late start. He will play just average in the first half and then pick it up in the second half. Also, O.J. seems to be struggling (for him) with his three point shot against tougher opponents. I think he and the rest of the team are going to have to come out with intensity and ready to play 100% from the opening tip-off in the next game. In conclusion, I would bet on HHS in the next one if O.J. plays. However, I would agree with "Shooter X 3" that Scott Co. has more depth, and is capable of doing it again. Does anyone know if O.J. will play for certain in the next one? If not, who decides, and when? And yes, it is O.J. who draws the huge crowds. They want to see him. He is a team player and very unselfish on the court, but the fans come to see him and it is O.J. who draws them in. His all around game and various skills are always impressive, even on his "off" nights.

Also, it was evident Laura Terry was ill and well below par for her. She is still struggling with some physical problems. Her breathing was visibly labored early on in the game and she had to take continued breaks. I believe when she gets back to her normal healthy self, you will see a much improved Lady Royal team and hopefully that will come soon.

Well, I've read all the comments and would like to make a couple of observations. I attended the game and it was in my opinion poorly officiated and not well played by either team. Nonetheless, it was a good road win for the Lady Royals under tough conditions. It was not that the refs favored either team, but they just called the game very inconsistently. Often times they would let too much physical contact go on with no call, and other times they would call a foul for the slightest touch. Totally inconsistent, and that is the most frustrating type of refereeing to both coaches and players. I agree with "Scooterbob" in that both teams played ragged and made too many turnovers and poor decisions. I got the feeling the game was getting too physical to where the refs had little control and someone was going to get injured. This is not good refereeing IMO. The refs need to improve their skills and work to do a better job, just like the players do.

I saw Bill Walker tear down a backboard brace and rim at the old Huntington Memorial Field House dunking one during a high school game. It was just as the fourth quarter started and they had to terminate the game early. It did not influence the outcome. The rule still seems unnecessary and unpopular as this is what many fans come to see.

I don't know much about Moeller. I have seen Huntington High play several times this season, and if they're not ranked in the top 10 nationally by MaxPreps, then MP has no credibility.

I am happy to see Euton & Jackson get some well deserved notice. The local newspaper has in my opinion ignored their talents for the most part.
