Holmes has finally had everyone back and has played pretty well the last few weeks compared to earlier in the season playing with out 3 top players. If I am not mistaken they beat HC played Brossart close and only lost to WV by 11 without Turner and before Sandlin was injured.

Did he run the picket fence for Dossett????

I believe Frankfort is rated higher than LCA in the LIT and Cantrall

I wasnt there and heard about the tournament second hand and reading from here, but was this a weird tournament? Walton loses a top player, Owen's leading scorer had to wear a face mask and Gallatin loses a top player in the first 2 minutes of the second round game for the year. WOW!!! Congrats to both teams as I hear Trimble played well and are much improved. Congrats to Gallatin and best of luck in the state!

Sounds like there needs to be a clipping rule or something for diving at knees.

I agree so much parity makes it fun and hard to predict. I usually stay out of this but I will take a try. 1) Simon Kenton- played Bowling Green tough who is top 5 in the state. 2) Notre Dame- 2 D1 athletes 3) Highlands- if healthy if not they drop. 4*) Gallatin Co- There ya go FBD and Mack. Beat Connor on neutral floor. 5) Connor- wins over NCC and Boone 6) Walton- Would be in the top 2 if not for Sandlins injury 7) NCC- nice win over Montomery Co, Lex Cath and Brossart 8) Brossart- Has played some good teams close 9) Holy Cross- Beat Boone but needs another quality win. 10) Boone- A tad above Ryle

Just about 20 minutes south of Ryle. Did some more research on the KHSAA website. Leading scorers Brooke and Hannah Dossett at about 17 ppg each.

Have to come to my friends from the 8th region defense. When the Speedway has a race why is that considered Northern Ky? Isn't that in Gallatin Co? I took a look at the KHSAA scoreboard. 22-9 last year region appearance. The year before 17-10 region appearance and I went back for about 5 years and didnt see a losing season. 2009 won the 8th region all A. Then won the opening round in Richmond. That doesnt look like out of the blue sucess to me. I do agree this year they are having a great year at 10-2 with wins of Connor and Cooper from Northern Ky. I cannot wait to see them face Simon Kenton later this year. You are also right Anderson is in everyones way in the 8th. In talking to people from Gallatin it is more about the kids and them getting exposure they deserve as much as any other kid in the state. Gallatin is not Louisville, Lexington and has been shut out of Northern Ky in recent years until appearantly now since I am seeing scores in the Enquirer and Post.

Glad to see Anderson(#2) and SK ranked in the state representing the 8th region. Both especially Anderson have been impressive.

I got to see them before or after some of the Boone games and the sisters are tough. I was also impressed with the low amount of turnovers they had considering they play uptempo.

Gallatin jumped out to a 13-1 lead before Madison Central took a 2 pt half time lead. The games stayed at a 6-8 point lead for Central the rest of the way until GC fouled in the final 2 minutes to get the ball back. Surprised how good of a game it was (no offense to GC)

I dont think the key freshmen went to the freshmen tourny. Hendricks and gambrell were playing in the varsity game and hit a couple 3's if a recall correctly. Looked to me like GC's press and ability to spread the floor and penetrate was the difference. Connor will be fine.

I am sure GC likes their reward for beating Connor. I have heard madison Central is tough.

I'm sure not having Meyers hurt Connor. Scott was in foul trouble and fouled out at the end of the game. With that being said Gallatins top 2 scorers fouled out. GC's leading scorer for the year had a off game offensively missing many shots she hits 99% of the time. Looked like Gallatin's press bothered Connor.
