  1. I know you’re just mentioning SR on that team but that team was loaded with additional college players from Power 5 to other D1 schools. It took a few snaps to settle in that game which made the difference. That an of course Mayer.
  2. His birthdate is listed as January 5, 1978. So he was 19 going to turn 20 his SR year if I did the math right.
  3. I believe this is how it works going from something like CCH. If you start there and leave you would have to move into the new district you’re enrolling in. If not then you are ineligible for a year. Example you live in Cooper’s district but enrolled in CCH as a freshman. You then decide to no longer go to CCH but never move. Ineligible for a year. You live in Cooper’s district and enroll at CCH as a freshman. You then decide to no longer go to CCH but you move into Ryle’s district. You have now moved districts and would be eligible as far as the law goes. As far as going from public to private I believe you would have to move out of your current district to a different district to be able to enroll and not sit. What appears to be the main point is you have to physically move out of one district into another. Then again I could be wrong on all of it.
  4. Looks like they ran the double wing with some single wing mixed in.
  5. The other score was on a screen n go from probably 30-40 yards out.
  6. Would that be the old Red Faught system?
  7. No matter what position the OC played he better know OL play.
  8. Five of the teams they have no choice but to play. Now of course that includes Beechwood. NCC KCD Holmes Those are all pretty stiff competition for them. Brossart and Boone won’t be cakewalks. That’s a pretty solid schedule and it’s the type of you get banged up a little gets even harder. Carroll has been closing the gap some too and the last few years have been tough games.
  9. Josh Cole from East Jessamine has been named the new HC.
  10. Word is that the coach will be named Monday.
  11. With what’s going around the listserv I hope they had a nondistrict schedule already put together or at least had someone working on it. It’s become pretty common practice to get agreements before the season even ends. If not you risk either not playing a full schedule or playing way over your head.
  12. I used to dislike how Ohio does it. Now I’m starting to like it more and more.
  13. That might (that’s a big might) help but then you come back and are placed in the same boat again.
  14. I guess that depends on what one considers failure. There are times with certain districts it is brutal. It might be a small amount of districts but I believe there are some out there.
  15. I wonder if Scott has their schedule pretty much locked in or not. You can’t make it official yet but most of the state has their out of district games lined up.
  16. I was under the impression that Morgan runs his own business and I would guess when he coached youth he was very involved in how that program was run. Those factors would be pretty valuable as a HS HC. There are some really good coaches that know their stuff that coach at lower levels. People might be surprised about how many people have HS experience but know little about the logistical and administrative side of being a HS HC.
  17. You can play it a bunch of ways or in other words different flavors. That defense is going to spin post snap. The version Spetch runs at Cincy St X that middle safety is his adjuster. The try to get him as the free hitter all the time. Iowa St who kind of made the defense popular does something similar. That middle safety is a hybrid player. He is the box fitter. They can roll the coverage to whatever. It also allows them to play a Tampa 2 type defense without the pressure of a LB getting sucked up and dropping. Iowa St also based out of the Tite front so they are playing with a lite box. They are going to try to spill to those safeties. Long post short the presentation presnap is different but post snap it’s still like what Homer and Sid Gilman taught. 0-1-2 or MOFO/MOFC.
  18. I do not believe you can request to play down for geographic reasons.
  19. Don’t get me wrong they’ve got some good players. Looking at the KHSAA roster and it looks like well over half were freshmen and sophomores this past season. To say they have better players than most of the teams they played against this past year is a stretch. Look at the schedule and either the teams were pretty loaded with talent (Douglas, Scott Co, Great Crossing, Lloyd) or were heavy upperclassmen loaded.
  20. They did that at Kentucky too if I remember correctly.
  21. The portal has changed recruiting a ton. Teams aren’t recruiting kids like they used to since they can go out and get a portal kid. The days of recruiting a freshman QB and developing him (or any number of other positions) is getting smaller.
  22. I really wish we would go to this format. Being forced to play in districts can do more harm than good to a number of programs. Depending on the size of the district it can force teams into situations where hitting .500 might be the best a team can do. It allows some of the top teams in the state to schedule higher competition.
  23. I think some of those projections missed some schools. I don’t believe I saw Harrison in the 4A ones.
  24. I don’t think anyone is in favor of cutting principals. Now I think most feel like central office positions in many districts are bloated.
