Sportskid

personally im a fan of the Bluegrass organization.... Rob Sanders does a great job with these kids in teaching them more about the game as well as getting players to the next level...

Mercer is not top 5 unless they prove somethin against quality opponents....

i agree with you on this one.... In '05 Newport should have very well beaten Russell but had a few things slip the wrong way... last year they gave Mercer their best game until, including O'Cath getting absolutely dismantled, the State Finals. Then with NCC joining the District after having won back2back state titles NKY 2A will be better than in years past. So i'll take one of the teams in this district having a better chance to win it all than O'Cath or Corbin but thats just my opinion

Dont forget about Newport's field as well.... need grass in the infield

who is Simpson's father?

who was the pitcher?

I think it will be nice for the kids and the community. It is along time coming. I do think if the gym was painted white it would make the gym brighter. But i am glad to hear of the up grade for Bellevue.

you've got a good point there....

For conner that would be Shane Taylor... One heck of a 3rd baseman

Bob Myerhoff and Rob Williams

you can teach a kid at that age to throw a curve ball, but you want to make sure that number is VERY limited and after the game make sure to ice the elbow and shoulder. Alot of kids dont do this after they pitch which causes a lot of problems

im not saying they will do horrible... im just saying that they should have never been in 2A last year... 5A will come down on them because its gonna be ten times tougher.... they should have played up last year and gotten experience playing the best teams in 3A... i mean they didnt really gain anything from the teams they played last year.... but none the less i wish them the best of luck next year in 5A but its gonna surprise some people when they aren't the best team in the state again....

how about some mozzarella or provolone?

They could not have beaten CovCath, Bowling Green, LexCath or even Highlands last year IMO

i'll back jeepman on that one..... if mercer would have played in 3A or 4A last year they dont have a state title.... thats a fact like it or not.... and as far as a merger, i'd talk to danville about one

i guess they'll be playing up where they should have been last year. No reason they should have been in AA last year IMO

I have seen Atown play and i really dont think they can beat Newport, or Rose Hill. I think they will go 2-2 at best. But good luck on the remaining games, and heading into the districts.

Well the district 2a coaching is going to be big now. Lloyd-Yeagle NCC-Schneider (sp?) Newport-Schlarman Holy Cross-Kerzskey (sp?) I have to say it is going to be a good district to watch. Good Luck Yeagle and the Juggs.

yeah i knew Carroll wouldnt be in it but i wasnt sure if there was one more team in the district or not....

i think the district rounds out with Newport, NCC, Lloyd, Holy Cross and i think there is one more but i cant remember right now. And yes they are staying in AA

what do you all think about this team next year? What do you think Coach Schlarman has up his sleeve for the new district?

Newport use a company named Sprint Turf. It is all rubber and not sand and rubber mixed. The field is very soft.

Thats is right with the Northern Ky teams with turf. But to keep it straight, Newport Staduim has turf and funded by the Newport School Board. Newport rents the field out to other teams that want to use it. I know it will not pay for the turf but it does help with some of the cost. Last year i know NCC and Brossart rented the field for games.

Yea your right about Angelo Dant. Like i said i may not name them all. But he was a good player for the Cats.
