With all due respect to all other teams, this year it is LCA's to lose. As long as they give the ball to Hayden on the fourth and goal from inside the one and not try to throw it, all will be good. LCA has alot of experience and great size. The QB mixes in well with a great running game. I see Bellevue and Beechwood in a knock down drag out physical battle in round three. The winner of that game, beat up and bruised, wins the right to travel all the way to Mayfield. This will be too much to overcome in my opinion. LCA over Mayfield for the championship. I hope this is wrong and the Red and White Tigers bring home a third straight trophy. Go Tigers! :popcorn:

:thumb: It is nice to win all games you play. A team does not get better winning by 30 every game. VOR and I are on the same page on this. Why do you think the JV schedules HHS and Dixie 2 or 3 times each and the varsity plays the early schedule they have? It prepares them for what is down the road. In this years case it is a big and physical running back and team in LCA. That is if BW is able to win and get to the 'ship.

Ricky is a very tough kid. That is 86 carries in 2 weeks. Plus defense, kicking off and returning kicks. That is a lot to ask of a kid in my opinion. Congrats on the records RB.

If they do not win state it will be brutal. They will take a couple weeks, or more, off and begin working for next year. They will lift, condition and train. They will work even harder to get back on top. That is where they feel they belong. By the way, not to look to far ahead, next year and the year after look very bright. Last years freshman champs playing against all schools, including 6A. They lost in the 'ship yesterday against a very good 6A team. These kids will be ready to keep up the tradition of Tiger football.

Best wishes on a speedy recovery to Erbman. Congrats to both teams on a well played game. The injury definitely took alot away from Beechwood. I am not sure how it may have ended up, but I would of liked to see if all stay healthy.

I am sure this will be used as billboard material in some locker rooms across the state. I will have to agree LCA should be the favorite. If the team has the same beliefs as you someone could surprise them. JMO

Miles had 7 carries for 31 yards vs NCC. He played very little due to an ankle injury.

In the playoff bracket, LCA is one side and Beechwood and Mayfield on the other. Is this right? If these teams make it to the semi's, Beechwood would host Mayfield right?

I understand where that may be a possibility. In this case, the ref definitely signaled the sideline signal. He then came over and was moving his hand up and down the sideline, telling the coach they have to give the ref room to run the sideline following the play. Not that he was going to catch the back that was running,LOL

That is the way it was called in the game I was at. No warning was given. The team that scored the long TD was the team penalized. They threw an 18 YD pass to get the 2.

In a pee wee game tonight they gave no warning. Did the result of the play, a TD, then marked off 15 yds for the PAT.

Turnovers are part of the game. On a night like that even more so. I can say at least one was caused by pressure. The BW d-lineman split the gap and was hitting Buckler as the handoff was made. He never even got the ball in his hands hardly. It seems Bellevue turned to being one dimensional last night. May be due to the weather. Buckler had 37 carries according to the paper. How many offensive plays did they run? BW also stopped themselves on drives, including the opening drive, with fumbles. They drove into BV territory on the opening drive fumbling I believe on 4 th and one. The fake punt on the first drive was wide open and well executed. Bellevue does have a big line. Surprised they do not play both ways a little more. Seems that size would be hard to run on if they had both of the bigger guys on the d-line. I have only seen them this one time, there may be a good reason. What do I know. Buckler runs very hard and has no quit. The hit he took on the BW sideline was nasty. He was slow to get up,but he did and stayed in. :notworthy: Beechwood did not get to use all the speed due to the weather and pressure from the BV defense. They kicked away from Vocke on punts. A rematch in the regional final should be a real good game if both teams are fortunate enough to get there.

You probably do not want to know the answer to this. It is not near as much that most make it out to be. The true answer would not make the stories told sound very good. I do not have the exact answer so I will not put a number. It is not very high.

I did pay attention to all of your post. I could only remember the ones I mentioned. I hoped someone would help me out. Thanks VOR and JB. Travis did not want to follow in Cody's footsteps. He wanted to be him and not the little brother, not that he is little by any means. I compliment the coaching staff and the players desire to out work everyone else on becoming better. There are players on the freshman team that are 7 th and 8 th graders. They play school ball because they would not get much time on the pee wee teams. They work hard and get better every practice. The freshman team has lost 2 games thus far. They lost in the last seconds to New Cath and lost to a very good and undefeated Cooper team. If I have it right, they have only 8-9 freshman on this team. Good luck to both teams tonight and hopefully stay healthy for a playoff run. :thumb:

Funny comment coming from a person in your position. I have said all season this is the year you better get them. If the district has a chance they better get it this year. Beechwood will be very good the next few years.

Do people think the Beechwood players have never played in the mud. These kids play at Mills Rd and Boone Co Pee Wee complex. These are both grass/ dirt fields. I am sure there are other fields in the pee wee systems that they have played on. They played Dayton and Ludlow last year in the slopping conditions. This is nothing new for these boys.

If you believe this you truly have not paid much attention to Beechwood football. Most of the seniors from last years team played both ways. Maneillo, Slusher, Miller and Teipel all played both ways. These are just a few who did. Elliott played both ways most of his senior year. He did miss some defensive time with a foot injury during the season though. Most of the better players are on both sides of the ball.

Is there any chance this game could be moved to Saturday? I vote for Saturday! :thumb:

Now this is funny. I do not think Beechwood cares if anyone respects them or not. They let it all happen on the field. That would actually play into the hands of the Tigers, IMO. If you know anything about rivalry games you know not all of them are blow outs. One of the teams could be winless and the other undefeated and the game could be close. I do not think Beechwood will beat them to death. It will probably be fairly close, especially with the weather. If you folks out west would let us northerners in on your rankings we would love to hear them. Who would you rank ahead of Beechwood that is currently behind them? That is how you mean over rated, right? It is funny how this year Beechwood did not beat 5A Dixie, 5A Cov Cath or 5A Highlands and some feel they are over rated. As I read in another post, most 1A schools in the top 10 would have been 0-4 or 1-3 if they had played the schedule Beechwood started with. I find it funny how everyone wants to play them this year when they may be a little thin. Over the summer a Bellevue parent even hoped this game was right after the HHS game so Beechwood would be beat up and possibly not at 100%. Good luck on your way to WKU.
