Some area's don't have enough girls interested in having a softball program. There are 2 girls playing on teams in this years LLWS, the teams from Canada and Saudi Arabia. I don't know about Canade, but I would bet that is the case in Saudi. I don't have a problem with it if that is the case. I couldn't look a kid in the eye and tell her she couldn't play ball because there was only baseball, not softball.

That is the case on this team. I'm watching them right now, and more than half are American.

I haven't watched them play yet, so I don't know. I will be watching later, though.

I thought I would start just a general thread for all LLWS games. A couple of early observations: (1) The Saudi Arabia team has a girl on their team. This caught my attention with the way females are viewed and treated in Saudi culture. They play on ESPN2 at 6:00 tonight. (2) The European team is from Ramstein Airforce Base in Germany. I haven't seen these guys yet, but I would have to believe they are mostly, if not all, American kids of service members. If this is the case, I hope they win the International pool. It would be great to see an all American championship game.

Saying because someone owns a gun, they are not civil is as stupid as saying because someone is black, they must be a drug dealer. Both statements are simple minded and show a bias toward a particular group. If you don't like guns, that's fine. It's your right to not like them. What is not civil is to insult a huge number of folks just because they don't think like you do. It has been my experience that the bulk of legal gun owners are some of the most responsible people in society.

The umps had to make the call in a split second. The kid did a great job of selling it. I had to see it on replay to see for sure that the ball hit the ground first.

Another thing about this team is they only have a 10 man roster. That is really dangerous, but I truely believe after watching a few games on TV that any of them could play any position. It's almost like they are a team of nothing but really talented utility players.

The Russellville All-Stars beat out a team from Columbus, IN 10-3 to win the Great Lakes Region and advance to Williamsport for the Little League World Series. This team really puts the bat on the ball, but their defense is unbelievable. They have some great gloves, and their willingness to lay out and go after the ball really set them apart in their region. Ate at one in Oklahoma City once. It was great.

I have never owned anything but domestic automobiles. That said, I don't think I will ever own aonther Chrysler product unless it is given to me. Other than normal maintenance and wear and tear items, Ive never had any issues other than with the Dodge.

I would choose my mom's dad. He was killed in a coal mine cave in when she was 7. She doesn't have a ton of memories with being so young, but all of the older relatives talk about what a great guy he was. I would like to let him know what a great daughter he had.

I got them all. It took me about 2 minutes to come up with the Vancouver Canucks. The NHL isn't much of a blip on my radar screen.

Cleveland is not weak in the QB department. They have a lot of other voids that need filled before going after a risky venture like Vick.

Philly fans may accept him better than anywhere else. These people are so bad, they pelt Santa with snowballs. No way do they care about a few dogs.

I don't like the throwing up with a head injury. Watch him close for the next few days. I would also keep him with me while he slept. It's probably nothing to worry about, but I would ere on the side of caution.

The main stream media is as left as it gets. This story would do great damage to gay adoption in this country. The media is not going to do something that would cause harm to their lefty liberal brethren. If this was a white conservative heterosexual couple charged with doing this to an adopted black child, they would be crucified on TV. The ACLU would be involved. Black groups would be saying whites shouldn't adopt blacks. And their church would be looked into as a cause of their actions. But since this guy is homosexual, no one is going to touch this.

We went thru this in 2001 with the ice storm. No electricity for 11 days. I let everything refreeze. That helped with the smell. Then I emptied the freezer. Once that was done, I took it outside and bleached it several times. I left it outside for about 2 week with the door open, and we cleaned it with bleach 4 or 5 times. This took care of the stench for us.

When naming a child, you have to think long term. With a name like Ayden, kids will call him "Gayden" or make other things like that up. If you want to toughen him up, maybe that is the way to go. Kind of like Johnny Cash's song, "A Boy Named Sue".

I'm just glad Chevy Suburban and Silverado didn't make the list. :scared:

What did Fox News do that hurt their credibility?

If you buy a house, ontop of paying your mortgage, you will spend the next 30 years changing things in the house you or your wife want changed. This will be extra $ and you will never be satisfied. If you build a house the way you or the wife wants it, you will be able to hold off 10-15 years before any major changes are done. You'll hold on to more $ longer.
