The choice rotates between the districts. It was the 40th last year and they opted to have it at Montgomery. Before their new gym, Mason was pretty much the only option so it automatically had to be there. Now that NKU is an option, the district up for this year could choose between the Fieldhouse, NKU facility and Montgomery and I guess they chose NKU. :thumb:

Well, it's true. Some of the posters on here from Mason(you and mcpapa) accepted the change and gave it a fair shot. But majority complained ALL season long. :thumb:

The Mason fans won't like it too much, it'll be about like it was this year. It's a long drive for us down in the 40th but it's the neutral court that we've all been wanting. I'm up for it.:thumb:

I agree with you there. Summer ball doesn't give much indication at all compared to the regular season. I also agree that Lex Cath isn't going to be close to what they were the past few years but they will still be a solid club and have enough to be top 15-20 or possibly better.

No need to brag... We got a real good player who liked our school and area. That's it. :thumb:

Sanford was out about the last 8 or so minutes of the game due to a hip injury. It was within 10 until he came out.

Sorry if I set up a thread to fail. :lol: But besides just the top 10 or whatever in the State... Can we get a running count on who the favorites for each region would be as of now ? Not just the bigger regions but every one if possible. :ylsuper:

I don't think thats true at all since GRC is the team that has played Harrison the closest(should have beat them). And GRC last year was much better than this years' Breds because they are so young. But this isn't a thread for that. If Maronde pitches I don't see Harrison winning this game at all. I'm sure Harrison will throw Martin so it will keep Lex Cath's bats down a bit. I think Lex Cath wins this game but it will be close.:thumb:

We strongly disagree on this. It may be because you haven't seen many GRC games and haven't watched these players play enough. Every good team needs a point guard. Every great team needs guys to do the little things and make the hustles plays. That IS Ryan Williams. I guarantee he will be the fastest player on the court 95% of the time. He has awesome handles. I almost would go out on a limb and say he's the BEST pass first point guard in the state. Without him, GRC's offense wouldn't run nearly as good as it does with him. Rogers last year was a freshman. He played like one as well. He had great flashes and played excellent some games and then some times he didn't. He's showed so far this summer, that he's more aggressive and plays a lot harder. He needs to be a rebound machine this year, and I think he will. By using your philosphy, the only player I see Mason having this year is Middleton. :thumb:

Since it was a summer game there were no announcers and they didnt have names on the back of their jerseys. Somebody did say they came from Bryan Station. One of them was their best player on the floor besides Sanford(Botkin didn't play).

Don't know their names but two athletic guys that could run the floor pretty well and shoot decent played with them recently in some summer games. Maybe some other people could help on the names.

They have some new guys to go along with Sanford and Botkin...

He averaged about 15 pts 9 rebounds and 4 blocks a game as a freshman last year. I have also heard he's projected to grow to around 7'. BTW Jared Carter was a heck of a high school player too. :thumb:

You can't really go by last year. Most of these teams will be a lot different than they were this past year. Elliot Co. being the only exception since they have pretty much their exact team back.

Williams is the point guard and main man running the show. He's only 5'9 but will probably be the fastest guy on the court no matter what. Awesome handles and an excellent pass first point who always hustles. Best defender I'd say. Hatton is about 6'2 who can shoot the three and take his man off the dribble. Rogers will probably be the 5th starter and he's about 6'4-6'5. Big body, rebounds well and finishes good around the rim. Another big body off the bench will be Pervis. He's about 6'5-6'6 who has a pretty decent shot. He needs to get a little more physical but that will come as he gets older.

I know not to put much stuck into the summer games because both teams have people missing, just thought I would throw it out there. Not sure if they were new kids or just people that have come up through the system but they had a couple really athletic guys around 6'1-6'3 ish range that ran the floor well and could shoot pretty decent. They had a couple bangers down low but I would say that will probably be their weakness this upcoming year. Of course, Sanford was the man for them. Maybe some Lex Cath fans could help us out if those players were new or just came up through the system.

Elliot Co. has to be top 5 atleast. Also, GRC beat Lex Cath last week in a summer camp by 15 and that was without Zollo(he was on the bench on crutches). I don't think Catholic had Botkin though, but Sanford played pretty much the whole game before getting hurt a bit late. I will go ahead and list mine as of right now. 1. Scott Co.-clear favorite 2. Elliot Co.- best team chemistry with a lot of talent 3. GRC- tons of talent and have mixture of few upperclassmen and the sophs. 4. Holmes- Pittman & Company will be tough for the next couple years. I think these 4 have the best shot at coming away with a Championship. These next 6 could probably fall in any of these slots. 5. J Town 6. PRP 7. Lex Cath 8. Hazard 9. Dunbar 10. Manual There are other schools that could be close such as Corbin, Adair Co., Mason Co., and some NKY and other Louisville schools.

Better than drawing the eventual state champion in semi-state. :lol: :jump: I will be pulling for the Breds too, and hope they make a deep run at State.

GRC went to Tates Creek last year to play Dunbar so not sure. If Harrison would of had to travel it would have been 2 in a row for the 10th as well.

Rank your top 5 or top 10 in the state for the upcoming year as of today. I know things can change. Also name the favorites for your beloved regions and who is the most likely to make it to state. :dancingpa

I have heard it was going to be at NKU as well, but it doesn't really matter. Just hope that the best possible place to have it is where it will be. :thumb:

I think you will be a bit surprised if you only think GRC has 3 basketball players. :ylsuper: The only person that I believe Mason has returning that can score on a consistent basis that played alot last year is Middleton. Downing was a nice role player last year but GRC is filled with those as well.
