No actually it was still up in the air. I never have thought Patterson was going to come as I think his heart is with the Gators, now Lucas might have came but that still wouldn't have been great class.

One good class out of four isn't going to cut it at UK and you know it.

Of course they do. All Tubby had to do was win and keep a nice flow of talent coming into the program and he would have been fine. I just don't see the whole racist thing, of course there are some idiots who still have a problem with African-Americans but there is nothing that can be done about that. Face it, basketball is an African-American dominated game so if everyone wants to get rid of Tubby because of his race do they want Randolph Morris to go pro because of his... Don't think so!

And around we go, back to the recruiting and assesment of talent.

I don't care what color you are white, black, blue, green, purple ect. if you win the UK fans will love you. The race card is being played a little to much in this one... the main reason UK fans didn't like Tubby is he hasn't won much or brought in good talent the last couple of years, bottom line.

Don't waste your time mobaar. Just take a look around at all of the other threads ladiesbballcoach is out to trash the decision that was made yesterday no matter wheter it was deserved or not.

I did see Tubby recruiting the players that missed shots and not grabbing rebounds. And don't come back with this "well Morris, Crawford, ect. were a bust". I'm not talking about them I'm talking about Woo, Thomas, Carter (if he was healthy) Perry(no, five good games in four years doesn't validate him from not being a UK caliber player) along with all of the non-UK caliber players that have left the team: Sims, A. Williams, ect. And you can go ahead and add another non-UK caliber player coming next year if he decides to still come in M.Williams.

I agree next year might be a rough one, but if we get the right man for the job things will be much better long-term.

Yea real great... maybe with those two they will be able to go .500 next year.

Tubby just doesn't have the make to coach in a high pressure situation as some other coaches do... Many would relish the idea to come in and coach in big game after big game. This just wasn't Tubby's cup of tea, he will be happy in Minn. where if they make it to the Sweet 16 it's like winning a national championship.

It was just time for a change... It's good for Tubby, it's good for UK. Tubby seems like a great person but the pressure of the UK job just ate him alive.

That's because the national media doesn't understand the love and passion the state of Kentucky has for this basketball program. It's easy to knock the KY fans when it is coming from outsiders that are most likely glad the program is in the state it is.

It's funny how we all think Doyle is a great guy when he calls out Coach K on the Laetner stomping, but when he writes a truthful although one-sided article on Tubby he is some sort of idiot journalist. I agree with all of you that think Doyle is a jerk, but the man tells the harsh truth that many of us know but won't say.

Good point. Like they say "size don't matter". :lol: Both seem to be great players no matter how tall they are.

How small exactly are Valley's guards? I was at the 15th region championship last year when they played JC and these guys looked like 6th graders out there. No disrespect to either they both were tremendous ball players just wondering how small they really are.

I can think of 2.5 million reason's why a lot of people would like to take Tubby's place.

He also played safety for P-Ville for 4 years, which is where I suspect he will try to play at G-Town espically if they already have a bunch of options at the QB position

Nice group of players... I might throw in D.J Augustine from Texas in the last spot instead of Hawes.
